Do they even still make this? I haven't seen it in 18 or 19 years.

Both Smurf cereals -- Smurfberry Crunch and Smurf Magic Berries -- have ceased production.

I have no interest in eating 20-plus-year-old cereal, that's for sure.

Wow! It's times like this I wish I kept a box of the Pokemon cereal that I used to eat.
I would love to see pics of both the Smurf cereal box and the PacMan/DK box.

Quoted for truth. I have a feeling that eating a 20+ year-old cereal would probably make someone sick, even if it was never opened.

You can see what the Smurf Cereal looks like here...
http://bluebuddies.com/Smurfs_Smurf_Cereal.htm
There were different prizes that came inside the smurf cereal over the years. Which ones do you have Carl? It would be great if you'd scan a pic - love to see it!
I never even knew they made Pac-Man cereal. Cool!

Part of me is saying "Let's find out what the prize is!" The other part of me is saying "No! Let's look at eBay to see what unopened cereal boxes from over 20 years ago are going for."
The value of the box may decline if opened. But what if the prize is worth more than the unopened box?
Enough to give you worry warts huh?
I'd say look around the Internet to see how much these boxes are worth unopened first.

My thoughts are EXACTLY the same as Kojinka_Sketchette's. Surly there must be a collector somewhere (even if it's not particularly a Smurf collector) that can give you a good idea. Don't give up on exploring those options. Either way, I'm sure the prize is still worth a whole lot, especially being in perfect condition having never been taken out of the cereal box. But do try to find out if you should leave the box sealed or not first. There has got to be someone out there who would know what to do.
