Bust my Buffers and Smurfs! Thank You, Shane! We will wait and see, unlike Smurfy1for2. By using Grouchy's catchphrase: "I hate people who don't have hopes, faiths, and believes!"

Shane Jensen , I think that you are wrong. All 6 specials are very similar with regular episodes. They also have the same lenght and quality. Special#1 belongs to first season, specials 2 and 3 belong to second season, specials 4 and 5- to third season and special 6- to the Season 7 !

UPDATE! New Wave Entertainment (producers of a Special Feature documentary that will be on the DVD) confirm the provect is on-track for release at the end of this year. As per New Wave, the documentary "reminisces about all the fond memories we had growing up with our favorite saturday morning cartoon as well as illustrate why it's essential for our younger generations to experience and absorb the same fond memories."
"The Smurfs" Season 1 for the U.S. will be out by the end of 2007. Smurfs Fans just wait a few more months. Season 1 will be in stores soon. Just in time for Chirstmas.

tvshowsondvd.com has reported that the first "The Smurfs" DVD will be out on December 4, 2007 for the U.S. This SUCKS. Because there coming out in Volume Sets instead of Seasons Sets. I'm pissed off. Why did this do it this way. There's 26 espiodes in the first season. This Volume 1 set has 2 discs with 19 espiodes. All they had to do was have a third disc with the last 7 espisodes on it.
I hope this info. I found is wrong.

Oh no, volume sets? I hope that info is wrong as well. I see no reason why this can't be released as season box sets like every other show.

Well, just don't buy it. Just wait until WB releases the real ones. And I'll say, tvshowsondvd.com DVD's are a bunch of RUBBISH!

Yeah, I saw that, but was thrown off by what they said above with the news that WB is releasing them as volume sets rather than season box sets. Volume sets would be totally uncool, I certainly hope you are right. I want season box sets as much as you. I need to see seasons seven and eight which I totally missed.

The only thing I don't like about the box set is its use of Studio Peyo artwork on its box label.

Hi. It looks to me like tvshowsondvd is dvd news site. They have links to buy discs from places like Amazon. Here is what they say:
Warner Bros will release The Smurfs Season 1, Volume 1 on December 4. The 2 disc set will include the first 19 cartoons (345 mins), newly remastered, along with "The Smurfs' Springtime Special" and "Smurfs: The Music Video."
The trailer on the Popeye DVD released this week mentions that the set would include "all 26 episodes from season 1", and shows four discs, but the information we got today says otherwise: 19 cartoons and two discs on a "Season 1, Volume 1" set.
As you can see from the graphic below, the suggested retail price is $26.99.

#1 Are they really going to cram all that onto just two discs?
Ok, yes Vic George 2K6 it is using new artwork, weird I know but I saw the same thing with old Batman 'toons, new artwork that doesn't match the style on the discs.
The way they're releasing this means there can be around 19 to 21 disc sets in total. That is a lot of discs. As for the Season One Volume One set, you get twelve 15-minute episodes and seven 30-minute eps, plus the Springtime special and music video. That assumes these are the episodes:
1. The Astrosmurf - 30 minutes 2. Jokey's Medicine - 15 minutes 3. Vanity Fare - 15 minutes 4. St. Smurf And The Dragon - 30 minutes 5. The Magical Meanie - 15 minutes 6. Sorcerer Smurf - 15 minutes 7. Bewitched, Bothered And Be-Smurfed - 30 minutes 8. King Smurf - 15 minutes 9. The Smurfs And The Howlibird - 15 minutes 10. Soup A La Smurf - 30 minutes 11. All That Glitters Isn't Smurf - 15 minutes 12. Dreamy's Nightmare - 15 minutes 13. Romeo And Smurfette - 30 minutes 14. The Magic Egg - 15 minutes 15. Smurphony In 'C' - 15 minutes 16. Sideshow Smurf - 30 minutes 17. Super Smurf - 15 minutes 18. Paradise Smurfed - 15 minutes 19. Sir Hefty - 30 minutes
Is that 345 minutes??
Columbia House has the box art for Season One, but it doesn't say 'Volume 1', it just says Season One, if you look real close.
Wonder what the music video is?

I guess I can deal with them as volume sets as long as they still come out with ALL the episodes for each season. It just means it won't be all the episodes at once per season. I can live with that.
It looks like they are finally moving with this. I hope all the intros are intact.

tvshowsondvd.com- explains why "The Smurfs" Season 1 is coming out in Volume Sets. Still I don't know why they could'nt just delete the duplicate espisodes that there talking about and just put the single espisodes on a DVD. Like most all other TV shows in this world. Why do "The Smurfs" shows have to be different?
I guess I can also deal with getting "The Smurfs" seasons in Volumes Sets. As long as we get them all.

No come on, it still seems like we are getting all the episodes, just not all at the same time. After all these years we really should be happy with what we get, assuming we still get all the episodes of course which we will.
