Hello again I have written several e-mails to the people who sell it asking some questions about its quality (image and audio) and where it comes from and they don't answer me, so I am sure this is a FAKE DVD and it is not worth it.

I doubt that's the real version, but you'd have to be a biiiiig computer geek to make that menu. And I thought I was a computer geek! Oh well...

TO all that have asked, I bought this DVD from this person, it is a actual DVD, not a fake. It is from Hong KOng but is in english. In Hong Kong a few years back they took allot of the movies that had been released on VideLaserDisc and have burned them to DVD. IT IS AWESOME! BTW Joann all the information you said you emailed that person, the answers to are on the auction itself.

Thanks for giving the mini-review. I've actually havd a few emails from people asking about this DVD, and the fake looking case just seems to pique everyone's curiosity...
So is it a standard NTSC (USA/Canada) disc? I thought they used PAL in Hong Kong...
It is region free, no redion code at all, as are most Hong Kong DVDS.

I was referring to the broadcast standard (NTSC or PAL). I looked up the auction and the DVD is NTSC - quite interesting. Hong Kong DVDs are often PAL (incompatible with North American players), so this disc may be made for our market specifically.
Neato!

Hello again I finally bought this DVD too and I have to say: It is good, 6/10. The image is good but not perfect. It is not like a DVD but a VHS tape, that's for sure. The sound is just BAD. It is not 5.1 dolby surround at all. There are constant hiss and crackles. There are no bass anywhere, just treble and hiss. And of course it is NOT stereo. I have written to the man who sells it to say "hey, you are wrong with the quality of the sound, you should change the specifications in the eBay pages where you sell it". He has just ignored me and don't want to leave feedback for me!!
We are in 2004. In 2008 smurfs will be 50 years old. I am sure we will enjoy with lots of gifts, for example this DVD in its official issue. You decide.

Well Joan it seems to me you got a bad copy, just like if you had bought one from the store. Allot of people I know orded this DVD as well and DO NOT have the problems you state, instead of telling the seller he needs to change his advert, you may want to be less negative and ask him if you could have a exchange as the one you received was faulty, maybe he would respond to a pleasant email, he never ignored any of mine.
