BlueBuddies.com now has a Favorites Icon.

Visitors to http://BlueBuddies.com/ will now see a little Smurf head next to the BlueBuddies.com URL (in the address bar) and also next to the BB link in their Favorites menu

This Favorites Icon works in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Opera. It may also work in other browsers.

Incidentally, the Smurf BBS has a Favorites Icon of its own already, a "Ultimate Bulletin Board" lightbulb icon.

Hi Papa, the favicon is working on my favorites menu but not in the address bar.

Nice icon.

Thanks for the advice on intro pages, I agree about the search engines so I will only use certain links for the intro. I have updated the link on my signature for the intro.

Hi Rachel!

Ahh...the infamous favicon "feature" in Internet Explorer.

The problem is this: Internet Explorer will fetch the favicon once and only once. So if the favicon changes over time, or you accidently delete it, etc., you're stuck with the old one, or even worse - nothing.

There isn't much you can do in the case of IE if you've already visited the page...but as you can see, the bookmark icon works fine.

Opera on the other hand, handles it perfectly.

Mozilla displays it fine too.

IE is the only browser with this problem - I believe it is because they were trying to cut down on failed "favicon.ico" download attempts in people's server logs...
