Yikes! That name is a real work of redundancy. I liked the BlueBuddies name better.

I'm deeply offended you don't like the new name!
Of course, it was part of an obviously hilarious April Fools joke. For those that missed the fake logo, here it is:

Did anyone see any truly funny April Fool's Jokes this year?
PS You may have to clear your browser's cache if you downloaded the fake logo - otherwise you may be stuck with it, which is something I don't recommend.

Whew! Okay!
I hope you're not really offended! I just find that name particularly odd, which made me wonder.
I don't participate in making April Fool's jokes, BTW. Usually I just let others do the hoaxing.
On the subject of that, though, somebody on the AtariAge boards proclaimed that they have found a prototype cart for Coleco's Turbo for the 2600 and even uploaded the ROM for people to try it on their emulators. Turns out to be more of a demo than an actual game, since the cars barely move and you can only control the speed of the animated pseudo-scrolling buildings. Now it turns out that it's most likely a hoax.

Nice one Papa I saw the post but I didn't get a chance to reply as I was stuck in work all day yesterday. Our local radio station was saying that there was casting for Catherine Zeta Jone's new film in Swansea yesterday, apparently loads of people took the day off work and school to attend only to discover it was an April fool! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Of course I was joking Vic! I'm not really offended. April Fools!
Besides, that is how I always joke (with a poker face).
Anyhoo, the last videogame-related April Fools I recall had to do with E.T. being named "best videogame of all time" or some such nonsense. Made me laugh.
The problem that I can see with Atari 2600 ROMs is the fact that it's pretty darn hard to tell the difference between a Beta ROM / Prototype and a prank in most cases. Ie, there are a lot of horrible looking 2600 games out there, consisting of a few blinking rectangles, etc. I think it was brilliant to make an Atari 2600 April Fools joke because, as you mention, it would be hard to ever know if they were serious or not...

Hey! Administrator Sassette (who has completely abandoned all BBS posting/reading duties, the plonker) is watching a "Bargain Hunt" taking place in Swansea right now (on BBC America). There's some sort of choir on.
I love the Cathrerine Zeta Jones joke. Those poor saps. That type of humor is what I really miss about English culture. Really good April Fools Day jokes just aren't as prevelant here. People take the media a lot more seriously (see the response to the "War of the Worlds" broadcast), so you wouldn't ever see a news anchor announcing bumper spaghetti crops (a la the famous BBC News prank).
Now, with regard to Bargain Hunt...a profit of £2? They go home with £2? Are they serious?
