Happy 88th Birthday to Michael Bell!!! The amazing voice actor who brought Handy, Grouchy and Lazy Smurf to life in Hanna-Barbera's The Smurfs!
In addition to The Smurfs, he also had roles in other vintage cartoons such as The Rugrats, Darkwing Duck, The Incredible Hulk, The Jetsons, and even landed some small roles in modern movies like Tangled and Cars!

Michael Bell would have been my choice for the voice of Empath Smurf.

Happy Birthday to voice actor Michael Bell.
Mr. Bell brought life and personality to Smurf Village in the 1980s animated series. He was the voice of Handy Smurf, Grouchy Smurf, Lazy Smurf, and even Johan. Whether he was tinkering at Handy's latest invention, grumbling "I hate (whatever)" as Grouchy, or sleepily doing nothing as Lazy, Bell's talented vocal work made these characters unforgettable for generations of viewers.
