Hi, new to the site and was wondering if anyone would know if this Smurf was really released in 79-80s or was it a reissue in 1999-00. I know the date stamp says 79 on the foot but I read this Smurf was also available in 99-00. I am wondering because it is a brighter blue than most of the others and also in near perfect condition.

Original 1979 Pointing Smurf Figure


2.0050 Pointing Smurf

First issued: 1979 (1979 - 1986)
Later productions: 1999 - 2000

Darker Blue - W. Germany, Schleich, 79, Peyo.

Lighter Blue - CE, Schleich, Germany, Made In China, 79 Peyo.


The original 1979 Pointing Smurf figure does not have the markings on the feet, it is marked on the arm. The newer version of 20050 Pointing Smurf is marked, "Made in China" etc on the feet.

The older Smurf is less bright white than the newer Smurf. And like you mentioned, the newer Pointing Smurf is brighter blue and in mint condition. You have the newest Smurf.
