The Great Smurf Massacre for the Commodore 64
The Great Smurf Massacre is a peculiar and dark homebrew game for the Commodore 64, consisting of two distinct levels that revel in anti-Smurf chaos.
In the first level, players are thrust into a sadistic torture scenario, tasked with inflicting cartoonish harm on the hapless blue creatures in a single-screen setup. It’s crude, simple, and only satisfying for those with disturbed sensibilities.
The second level, titled "GI Joe 2: The Smurf Massacre," allegedly repurposes assets from the official G.I. Joe game, transforming it into a shoot-'em-up where players mow down Smurfs with military precision.
While the controls are clunky and the graphics are basic by C64 standards, the absurdity of the premise gives the game notoriety. Short, unpolished, and not for the faint-hearted, this game is a bizarre relic of retro experimentation.
Summary
A niche novelty for anti-Smurf fans of the obscure and macabre.
