This two-page print ad is from a Marvel comics dated December 1984. Thanks to the three-months-ahead cover dates used on comics at the time, this would have gone on sale around September / October... just in time for the start of the new season.

These are great ads and items connected to the NBC show! Thanks for posting! I have a ton of the colour comic ads promoting Saturday Morning Cartoons, but I'm curious where this colour ad above came from...was it from a specific monthly comic? TV Guide? A specific kids magazine? Any info would be great.
I also love the NBC pinback. I first came across the NBC mug on bluebuddies.com years ago when I first discovered this site, but I never knew about the button. I would love to have one of these items since it was the cartoon that started the adoration of this franchise. So my search for NBC-Smurf stuff continues.
Glad you also posted the B+W ads promoting the evening specials. You don't come across those a lot.

All of the Smurfs NBC promotional ads shown here come from old newspapers, TV Guides, comic books and trade magazines. I wish I had more info on the Smurf-Search ad but my guess is a comic book or newspaper?
I really love the Smurfs & NBC collectibles too! I'm always on the lookout for more items other than the pinback and mug shown here.

NBC Cartoon Characters Saturday Morning Lineup (1989)
For NBC Saturday morning characters it's the last day of vacation before starting their rehersals. The new lineup is Kissyfur, Camp Candy, Captain N: The Game Master, The Karate Kid, Smurfs, The Chipmunks, Saved by the Bell, Alf Tales & The More You Know.
Kissyfur: If the new season doesn't start soon, I'm going to go nuts!
John Candy: According to this, we're supposed to be on the set at seven.
Alf: Hey John Candy, we're ready, no problem, Ha!
Mr. Miyagi: Daniel-san, this gonna be good year.
Karate Kid: Will I be ready, Miyagi?
The Smurfs (roasting marshmallows): Oh boy, they'll eat this up.
Alvin: We could go over the new lineup if we could just plug this in
Captain N: You don't need electricity with me around.
Saved by the Bell: What are we doing on TV - the season hasn't started yet?
