It looks like I might may made a mistake about the new Smurfs schedule.I had thought that it might be a permanent new schedule to broadcast the Smurfs every Friday, but while going nots videotaping all those episodes yesterday I think I heard the announcement "All Friday, all October long." It looks like it *might* have only been for the month of October, and here I had just discovered it last Friday! That's disappointing. But oh well...anyway, I DID manage to videotape all the episodes they broadcast yesterday. One of them, which I had never seen before, made me (and my two young nephews who were watching with me) laugh so hard I could barely breathe! That episode was called "Reckless Smurfs", and the results of Gargamel's latest potion were so hysterical we kept wiping our eyes laughing while we just stared at the TV in shock! The sight of watching poor Papa Smurf impersonate Tarzan and usually polite Smurfette acting like Princess Daphne (those familiar with the game "Dragon's Lair" will know who I'm taking about) was a sight I could never have imagined seeing in my lifetime! The poor smurfs. There was another one that had me staring at the screen in shock like that as well, another I had never seen before--but not with laughter, just with shock. I think it was called "The Tallest Smurf", the one in which all the smurfs save Slouchy were shrunk to the size of...what was it, perhaps around a centimetre tall?! I had just never seen such a sight on that show before, that REALLY made me feel sorry for them. The only other episode that caused that reaction in my before that I can recall was one that had somehow shrunk Gargamel to that same size. Oh well, even if it does turn out to be only for October, at least we were able to enjoy it for two Fridays. How many did you get, Papa Smurf? -Vanity-

I gave up on videotaping episodes years ago, but I know the episode you're talking about since I also have seen it when it was originally aired on NBC. I thought it was funny in itself how the only way they could defeat this "daredevil spell" was to be hit in the face with a certain type of cream pie. I don't remember, however, Papa Smurf acting like he was Tarzan rescuing Smurfette like she was Jane in that same episode. I do remember that she was one of the rescuers of the other Smurfs, including Papa Smurf, because she got accidentally creamed by one of Greedy's pies. Anyway, I do remember this was one episode I thought could use that Bryan Adams song, "Summer Of '69", as part of its soundtrack. ("Man, we were killing time, we were the young and restless, we needed to unwind.")

Vanity Smurf, I love your signature.
If I were on Sesame Street and it were a cookie, I'd eat it. And even if I weren't on Sesame Street, I'd still eat it.
