Chapter 1 - Sarsaparilla Smurf
The Blizzard
**PROLOGUE**
This is the first fanfiction on my website and in this particular series. It was written on 12/15/2022. Most of the story takes place in Tapper Smurf's tavern and was written to introduce Tapper Smurf (in my series). Tapper Smurf was actually created by Vic George whose domain is linked on the links page of my website. The story takes place inside and outside of Smurf Village but mainly in Tapper's Tavern. **STORY**
It is a bright chilly morning with much potential, 10 days before Christmas. No Smurfs are working but Mailman, Farmer, Laundry, Greedy, Reporter, and Tapper Smurf. They all act like they hate to work, but in reality they love what they do and without their professions they would have no purpose. It is a very busy afternoon for Tapper, because everysmurf have all gone to his Tavern in search of warmth and some hot smurfberry cider. In the Tavern, reporter writes the 567th issue of "What's going on in Smurfingland?" while everyone is reading the 566th or completing Brainy's crossword. "Sure is extra hard today." says Hefty. "Hefty, it's always hard for you-" Brainy says in response but doesn't get to finish his statement before he is kicked out of the door of the tavern. Behind the counter, Tapper is filling the Barrels up with Sarsaparilla Ale when suddenly Papa Smurf enters the Tavern, Brainy trailing behind him. "Good morning, my little Smurfs!" the village leader exclaims. "Good morning, Papa Smurf!" all of the Smurfs say in synchronization. "It's a great day to get Smurfing!" says Papa Smurf was suddenly an unknown Smurf wearing a scarf over his face busts through the doors of the tavern. When he removes the scarf from his face, the feather of his hat pops up. "Papa Smurf, I sense a terrible blizzard!" says Tracker Smurf. "I was out picking Smurfberries, when suddenly-" "I understand," says Papa Smurf in response. "I received a message from King Gerard warning us of this. I didn't think the blizzard would arrive here until at least three days." "This is bad, this is terrible!" Scaredy says in panic as he tries to run through the door. "Will some Smurf restrain him?" "He's OBVIOUSLY, in a state of shock." says Brainy. Hefty Smurf tackles him before he can bolt through the doors. "Papa Smurf, what about Mailman and Greedy?" says Smurfette. "Good Smurfs, Smurfette!" "You just reminded me!" Mailman was riding Feathers to deliver a letter to Homnibus and Greedy was in the bakery baking a batch of Smurfberry cookies! Outside of the tavern, the blizzard had already arrived. 13 miles from Homnibus's abode, Mailman was riding Feathers. "Feathers, you need to land!" Mailman said, but Feathers could not possibly do this safely. Feathers started
to slow down and attempt to land whilst being covered in snow. Feathers spotted a lake to land in, but failed to perceive that the lake was ice. "NO! FEATHERS!" Mailman Smurf screamed but it was too late. They had already crashed into their icy doom but mailman had already gone unconscious due to the sudden decrease in altitude. Back in the bakery, Greedy was just figuring out about the blizzard. "Oh, Smurf!" "How could all of the other Smurfs let me Smurf here without Smurfing me about this awful weather!" "Smurf, just Smurfy!" Greedy yelled. "I better start salting the outsides of the windows and my door before the-" before Greedy finishes he finds out that this is not just heavy snow, but a blizzard. Snow was piling up all around his mushroom, and there was no way to escape. In 3 minutes, Greedy's mushroom was completely covered in snow and so was Tapper's Tavern.
--Sorry for the mentions of a 'website' this was all posted on my website but it is not finished yet, I assure you that I will link it once it is complete though.
