Can anyone else think of an episode of the Smurfs cartoon show that had an unfunny ending, where it was supposed to be funny but came off as insensitive or something worse? Mine would be "Vanity Fare", in which Vanity ends up running out of the village with the other Smurfs laughing at him when he got a joke mirror for a replacement of the one he lost.
"A Hug For Grouchy" was just unfunny throughout the whole episode, as it was about the Smurfs stalking Grouchy just to give him a hug.

I’d forgive “Small-Minded Smurfs”, if not for that cruel ending. After the Smurfs rescue Brainy, he goes back to annoying them again with no knowledge of what happened to his head and didn’t apologize to Clumsy for blaming him in the beginning of the episode. His head gets shrunken again, where the other Smurfs agree that a shrunken head is better than an annoying Smurf with glasses head.
It was at that point where Hanna-Barbera started running out of ideas for the series. However, I find the other Smurfs acting sadistic towards Brainy more cruel than Clumsy being blamed for no particular reason. And speaking of Brainy, he was an innocent victim for the most part.
