Hey all, new here. I'm in the beginning stages of planning my Smurf Village, but dont really know anything about the newer smurfs. I vididly remember buying smurfs as a child at the Hallmark store from a bin. I never had any of the other stuff. And fater seeing the toys recently released at retail, I have become a bit confused. Any advice on which smurfs and accessories are compatable with the vintage 70s & 80s Smurfs?
Thanks all, Gothy

Yes, all the classic Schleich smurfs figures and playsets are compatible with the modern ones, however there are some changes like their eyes are now conjoined like in the classic comics and show and their a little more acurate in their design

Perky is right, Gothysmurf. Both Schleich latest Smurf figurines and vintage ones have the same size (about 5,5 cm). To give you some ideas you can take a look at Smurf Houses and Playsets. And here's a Smurf Village with mushroom houses modelled in clay by a Bluebuddies member, Rino. It might give you many proportion references too. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Here's other from this (click on the image with Mermaid Smurfette and Windsurfer Smurf). We can see that Schleich Smurf houses and playsets (eg the Smurf School) were used for this composition. ![[King Smurf]](graemlins/King_Smurf.gif)

Oh...I didn't know that Schleich was still making them. All i see in the stores are the Jakks figures, which I haven't seen in a while, but did notice they had movable joints. I just checked the web site for Schleich to see the new stuff. Is there a store chain or online retailer that sells them? Amazon has the new big house for $52 dollars...or is that retail price?

I live in the UK so I can't help you with any store chains but yes amazon has the more recent Schleich smurfs for retail price. If you want any made before 2016 Ebay is your friend.
Hope your more successful in hunting down the smurfs than Gargamel! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Yes, most of these online stores are in Europe now; there was in New York one when I used to find Schleich Smurfs for my collection but unfortunately was closed. Still, here's two others in the USA which offer Smurf figurines too:
link #1 (last time I visited it there were Smurf mushroom houses!)
link #2
Yet this one is in Australia: link #3
I hope this helps. Good luck! ![[Wild Smurf]](graemlins/Wild_Smurf.gif)

Since you meant the new Schleich Smurf House (with Papa and ol' mean Gargy included), here's a video showing them plus the 2017 Smurf figures.
2017 Schleich Figurines (20800, 20801, 20803 and Lucky Smurfs)
The video belongs to , an online shop from (if I'm not wrong) the Netherlands.

Great info here guys-n-gals... Squeaky...have you ordered from the Timelss Trinkets' online store before? The houses are exactly what I am looking for. Now I have a whole new issue, lol. Deciding which version of each character to use for my village, the new or the vintage figure.. I have however decided on my first Smurfy purchases...Clockwork (my favorite smurf) a large house and a set garden fences. Again, thank you all for your help.

Yep, I have ordered from Timeless too, it's a very good online store. I've never purchased on eBay, but it's said to have a large variety of Smurf figures. As well as this one: link Just to remember: if you have any doubt, take a look here; the page gives many useful tips to Smurf collectors. And this topic tells much about customized Smurfs. Sometimes they appear for sale in online stores, but the seller must make clear they're not original anymore, despite the marks. You're smurfy welcome. And I wish the best of luck once more! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Thanks Squeaky, I'm almost done with my layout plan. I'm now deciding whether or not I want to use a model train to go through the village. I've seen the locomotive smurfs episode and might try my hand at making a replica of it. And I had no idea there were custom Smurf makers out there. I have made casts and reproduced items and may try my hand at making a few smurfs and perhaps houses as well.
