Okay, a little personal background. The Finnish monster rock band, Lordi, has been my favorite band for almost a decade. I adore them and although their most recent releases haven't struck as much of a chord with me as their older albums, they'll always hold a smurfily special place in my heart. With no exaggeration, they helped open my mind to a world outside my small town upbringing and to find my own identity, they helped me survive one of the worst periods of my life, indeed they truly saved my life. My first tattoo was their symbol.
So anyway, today I've been browsing around on YouTube, checking out the various Smurf albums, the original songs and covers, most sadly not having English versions, but still being pretty fun.
And then I found this.
Smølferne: Smølferock I Stuen. (Hard Rock Hallelujah)
A Smurf version of "Hard Rock Hallelujah" from the The Smurfs CD "Smurf Party".
That, my smurfy friends, is Smølferock (Smurf Rock), a cover of Lordi's most famous song, the song that won them the Eurovision song contest in 2006, the incredible epic that is "Hard Rock Hallelujah."
My favorite Lordi song.
Covered by the Smurfs.
Needless to say, my mind has been thoroughly smurfed.
- Anyone have a favorite Smurf song or cover?
- Has anyone else been stunned to find a favorite song has been covered by the Smurfs?
- Any other Lordi fans?

Awesome, Squeaky!
I know there's The Smurfs Go Pop!, The Smurfs Go Pop! (Australian release, with different tracks) and The Smurfs Go Pop! Again, but I think that's about it for English-language Smurfs music.
I'm rather jealous of Finland, where apparently there's been NINETEEN Smurfs albums to date, several of which reached mutli-platinum status!! (Finland really loves their Smurfs!)
On a related note, I came across this one the other day; The Smurfs covering Gangsta's Paradise! I was so shocked, I laughed until I cried. XD
Smølferne: Smølfe paradis (Gangsta's Paradise)
A Smurf version of "Gangsta's Paradise".
From the The Smurfs CD "Smurf Hits Vol. 2"
