Compared to the male Smurfs, she's a total prude.

Our beloved Smurfette? Too attractive for TV? I don't think so. She was on TV for nine years with the Smurfs TV show, which have been in reruns almost continuously since then. If Smurfette is too pretty, that's because Peyo drew her that way. Supposedly he modeled Smurfette after his daughter Veronique, who also had long blonde hair.
I think during his lifetime Peyo drew Smurfette in the comics with that flirty, coy look because he envisioned her as a dainty, feminine damsel in distress. That image was smurfed to smithereens with Hanna-Barbera's TV series, his son Thierry Culliford, and the Sony theatrical films, all of which made Smurfette bolder, more confident and caring, all without sacrificing her femininity.

I support Richrod's appointment. By the way, thanks a smurf for mentioning Peyo's inspiration for Smurfette, Rich. And Smurfyteeny, here's a topic discussing some more about Smurfette. ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif)
