Okay, I know that Smurfs aren't connected to the mainstream Marvel universe or whatnot but that doesn't mean they cannot become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And since WhatCulture said that Doctor Strange magic will be real magic, it could mean the same for the Smurfs and Gargamel as well! Share your thoughts and who should direct a live-action Smurfs movie as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and why? Or do you think the Smurfs should share their own cinematic universe with Peyo's other creation as well as any other comic book franchise that aren't own by a comic book company amongst the lines of Marvel/DC?

I think they should just keep themselves to their own universe instead of trying to share their stories with an incompatible universe owned by another company.

Aha, but even though Marvel doesn't didn't own the Smurfs, they did make Smurfs comics and one copy appears on this website.

The comics were published under license by Peyo. That doesn't mean that they currently have the rights to do anything they want with the Smurfs.

Next thing you're telling me Empath, your character, can't appear along side Professor X!

A Smurfs-Marvel Comics Universe crossover would ONLY be possible IF Peyo Creations allows for the crossover to happen in the first place. Otherwise, it's strictly fanfiction material.

And no, Empath would NOT appear in such a crossover UNLESS there was a specifically-created version of the character made by either Marvel Comics or Peyo Creations.
