sorry, i'm just curious and want some insight from hardcore smurfers about the financial burden or lack thereof of collecting. i'm a true collector at heart, of all kinds of things, but smurfs are my favorite because you can build a nice starter collection for under $25 and then go to the moon if you're so inclined.
if i lived in a fantasy world where i had lots of money, i'd spend up to $150 on the Fanta smurf; the highest I've paid was $60 total for the french disabled smurfs.

Not so much actually. Around 10 Euro at the most. Several of my smurfs are from fleamarkets, since I like to search for good deals at fleamarkets. Nowadays you rather seldom find them there though, and especially not in very good condition. But around 15-20 years ago, you quite often could find them in good condition for good prices at fleamarkets.
