Three Vanities: McDonald's Movie Set 1, Schleich (Classical) and McDonald's Movie Set 2.
Each of them: "How smurfingly handsome I look!!" ![[Vanity Smurf]](graemlins/Vanity_Smurf.gif)

The new ones are pretty cool, but in my view, the original ones are better.

Thanks a smurf to your little girls and you for sharing your delightful Smurf village, Margo!
Century, Redneck and Astroalien, I agree with you: though the movie Smurfs are cute, I also prefer them in their original form. I realized to put the three Vanities together to create a certain contrast among them. Regular Smurf figurines are usually about 2 inches tall (5.08 cm), if we except the ones that are sitting - this to mention as an example. I measured the movie Vanities and I found out they are 7.7 cm and 8 cm respectively. ![[Vanity Smurf]](graemlins/Vanity_Smurf.gif)

I finally got some Schleich smurfs, including the original Papa Smurf from 1969 and Baby Smurf w/ teddy. But I think one of my smurfs is fake! It is very small, only 1 & 3/4 of an inch tall -- even smaller than Schleich smurfs! I looked at the bottom of it, and the markings were almost ineligible, but this is what it says: İPEYO A&A/CHINA The smurf is not Schleich, and it doesn't even have a date! This is what the smurf looks like: It is a grinning Papa Smurf, with his hands on his hips. He looks almost like the Mcdonald's Papa Smurf, but he has no bag on his side, and no crystal. He is also much smaller. Can anyone help me? Is my smurf of very little financial value? Does A/A mean something?

I'm glad to hear of these smurfy news, Century, but I got pretty curious about your Papa Smurf. According to what you described, his appearence is alike the McDonald's movie ones. I realized to smurf a search through the markings info (Peyo A&A / China) and I found the answer in this link, what proves truly he's not a fake - but a Vending Machine figure!
These cute Smurf figures were launched in 2011, following the release of the first movie.

Thank you very much, Squeaky! It's quite a relief to finally know which smurf it is! Now I know that although it may not exactly be vintage or official, vending machine smurfs are no loner made. I found a set of all 7 for sale at http://www.gumballs.com/smurfs-figurine.html for $112.19! I won't be purchasing that, but the price must mean my smurf is worth something! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

I got some of my Movie Smurfs figurines on display in my apartment. I don't have room for the others, unfortunately.

You're smurfy welcome. Just to remind: customized and repainted Smurfs also appear on eBay and some sellers offer them as 100% original. Custom Smurfs are pretty cool due to creativity used, so that many collectors enjoy acquiring them; it doesn't mean they're fake, for they've still got their original marks; but the sellers must make clear they're not the original anymore. You can see more examples here and here. ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif)

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what custom smurfs are. Are they original smurfs that have things such as coke bottles and fruit bowls attached to them?

That's right. Just to compare:
Originally this Custom Smurf must have been either a #20158 Hamburger or a #20038 Singer.
These Smurfs are usually customized from figurines that lost their parts. I myself did it with a former #40208 Sign Smurf I found at a bootfair. His sign had been broken.

Yes, that's very creative. Fortunately I don't have to do that since none of my smurfs are broken! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

That really is a good idea to turn your smurf into a holiday decoration. And speaking of Easter, it is the last Sunday of March this year. Jesus is risen! Hallelujah! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I'm sorry to bother you again, but all 7 of my vintage Schleich smurfs say "MADE IN HONG KONG." Now I am puzzled. I thought all of the Schleich smurfs were made in Germany. What's interesting is that the one Schleich smurf I have that was made in 2010 says "MADE IN GERMANY." Are all of my vintage smurfs fake? ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

This doesn't mean they are fake. Just take a look at Smurf Figurines by Country and also Markings. Astroalien's suggestion is a smurfy idea, so that you could post some pictures of your little blue friends - with close-ups of their markings, too. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

A photo I had taken a certain time ago, inspired by a Smurf fanfic created by Rowena starring Brainy Smurf.

You can read it here. ![[Cool]](cool.gif)
