Topic: New Fanfic Idea - Naughtie But Still Nice :)

For the past week or so as I've gone to bed I've been getting a new story idea centered around falling asleep, dreams and nightmares. I finally decided to write it down and share it with the board:
Naughtie But Still Nice - While asleep in her cozy hammock at home, Vexy starts having nightmares of Gargamel condemning her for being a Smurf, and that if not for her blue skin, the essence flowing with her, and the powers she unexpectedly gained from Gargy's smurfiness potion (a comically earth-shaking, echoing yell), she would be nothing. In one nightmare, she suddenly turns back into a grey Naughtie but wants to stay with the Smurfs. The ground below her starts to sink and she nearly falls down a cliff. Smurfette grabs Vexy's hands to keep her from falling, but the grip starts to slip. Vexy wakes up screaming just as she falls down. (And for the record, I spell it "Naughtie" rather than "Naughty" in the singular when referring to Vexy and Hackus' old lives.)
The scream sends Papa and Smurfette knocking on her door to see what's smurfing on. Smurfette reassures her it's only a dream, and that she had similar bad dreams whenever her birthday rolled around. That's when they remember Vexy and Hackus' birthdays are coming up very soon. Papa tells Vex that being a Naughtie is part of her past, and she must accept that, but it doesn't mean it has to shape her future. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
While in the forest gathering wild berries, Vexy tells some of the other Smurfs about her bad dreams. Gargamel just happens to be nearby and overhears his traitorous creation's misfortune, and decides to capitalize on Vexy's fears to make her think they will come true and bring the Smurfs right into his clutches. ![[Gargamel]](graemlins/gargamel.gif)
Hackus starts having similar bad dreams, but isn't scared of them because they end with him stomping on Gargy's head or feet in anger yelling "Naughty! Naughty! GGGGGGCKK! You're not a nice man, Gargy! PFFFFT!" He is apparently too simple-minded (okay, too stupid) to find any deep meaning in those dreams--lucky him. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
I don't know how this would wrap up, but the central theme or moral is that we all have some naughty things in our past that we now regret and are ashamed of, but neither our present nor our future has to be fatalistically clouded or ruined. There is always a second chance for a new start. Vexy and Hackus' successful new lives as Smurfs are examples of that truth, as well as Smurfette's. ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif)
