I appreciate the support of the new IRC channel. Thing is, I know most people are unfamiliar with IRC chat, and for 99% of Smurfers it is easiest to join the chat from my free chat room. The chat room is automatically configured to bring you right to the Smurf Chat, even if you have never used live Internet chat, it makes it very easy! Using your own IRC client is a more powerful and full-featured way to join the chat, unfortunately, that route is a bit more techie than most Smurfers want to get! I tell you where to download an IRC client on my site, but 99% of chatters come in through the free room. If you want to join the Smurf chat with your own Internet Relay Chat "client" (a program that let's you join IRC) then you can download "mIRC" which is a leading client at www.mirc.com (I hope that address isn't blocked too!) If you want to know the address of the free chat room, email me at landofmarbles@mindspring.com and I can tell you where it is.
And Papa, the chat is not specific to my site...I think anyone can add the free chat room to their Smurf web page. If you want to add it to this site too, e-mail me! I will tell you where I got the code from, and maybe you can add it here too!! It is not the first Smurf chat on the IRC, but the key to a successful chat is exposure to the people most likely to attend, in this case Smurfers!! That is why I used this board and others around the WWW to let Smurfers now it exists. I honestly did not know the "no commercialism" rule when I posted my first message (Yes, I should have read the Trerms and Conditions of use, but who does! :-), and figured, as long as I'm posting, may as well plug the site!!
Anyhow, I hope there is no hard feelings!! Your site is most definately one of the best Smurf sites out there. It is well-organized, easily navigable, contains oodles of info, and it is evident that there is someone with some skill behind the big curtain!
