I am a writer as well as a cartoonist, but I prefer to tell Smurf stories in comic form. Nevetheless, this little gag came to me while at work this afternoon and it's faster to type it out.
In Papa Smurf's lab, Smurfette is showing Vexy her little Dragon Wand from "The Smurfs 2", usually kept under lock and key by Papa at her request because she's scared to death of its awesome power, even though it's almost depleted and one more blast will render it useless. "With smurfy power comes smurfy responsibility," she tells Vexy.
"Pfff! C'mon, Smurfette!" Vexy retorts. "How hard can it be to use this thing? What's to smurf about? All ya gotta do is point and shoot!" She impulsively grabs the wand, points it at the wall like a rifle, fires at a mirror... and the sparks ricochet back onto Vexy and turn her into a mouse.
Smurfette takes back the wand from Vexy's paws (LOL), grins, and tells her rodent companion "That's why I'm Papa Smurf's assistant, and you're not." One final blast turns Vex back to normal, renders the wand useless, and it's tossed into Papa's stove as firewood. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
Smurfette already has a little mousie in my fan art (Little Squeaky, successor to the original Squeaky), and she's quite a handful. The little lady would just smurf if she had to take care of another. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
