Most of the story ideas I've posted have dealt with Smurfette and Vexy, and the adventures they share as odd-couple best friends. Here's a story idea that came to me this morning that finally gives the boys some equal time, although it's too late for Halloween:
Count Smurfula: It's campfire storytime in the Smurf Village, and Narrator is reading the familiar story of Count Dracula. Scaredy Smurf (or Panicky from the movies; choose your Smurf ![[Wink]](wink.gif) ) is terrified that vampires may be real, but "Narry" and the other Smurfs tease him that while it's a scary story, it's not real. Scaredy's not so sure. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)
Meanwhile, Lazy does his usual thing, sleeping all day and getting chores half-done. When gathering wild smurfberries, he samples some unripe ones that leave a very sour taste in his mouth, and later messes with his brain. Lazy was present at Narrator's reading, so he starts sleepwalking at night thinking he's "Count Smurfula", a vampire smurf with a Bela Lugosi accent out for smurfberries, and especially smurfberry juice. ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)
Scaredy warns Papa and the other Smurfs there's a vampire in the village, but nobody believes him until he breaks into Smurfette's hut to steal her bucket of the rare, very sweet pink smurfberries. ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif) They think he's out for blood, but Smurfula replies "Blood? Vy vould I vant blood? Smurfs can get hurt zat vay!" "Yeah, like YOU!" Vexy responds, then in protecting her best friend proceeds to beat the smurf out of him, waking Lazy up from his sleepwalk and breaking the spell. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Vexy is still my favorite Smurf. Tomboys need love, too. :)
