Smurfette to Have a Fashion Show
FASHIONY SMURFETTE: Miss Piggy has come and gone from New York Fashion Week, but Smurfette will soon be on the scene. To make some noise for this summer’s release of “The Smurfs 2” movie, Sony Pictures Animation and Junk Food Art House have teamed to stage “Le Look Smurfette” fashion show Feb. 13. Moonlighting as creative directors for the project, Highsnobette’s Lois Sakany and Samia Grand-Pierre have created a blue-infused collection inspired by the dwarflike creature.
As a wink to the fictional character’s Belgian creator Peyo (whose first Smurf was drawn in 1958), a long-sleeve crewneck top is imprinted with “Parlez-Vous Anglais” and a sweatshirt is covered with vials of “blue essence.” Katy Perry, the voice of Smurfette in the new flick, won’t be in the crowd at the Conair Style360 space but other cast members may turn up.
In the months leading up to “The Smurfs 2” release, Junk Good Art House will sell the Smurfette line to department stores and retailers such as Colette, Selfridges, Beams, Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.

What smurfy news! I can't wait to see the designs. I hope we see more on Feb.13th at the "Le Look Smurfette" fashion show!

It must be such a smurfy event! I wonder if there will be any creation involving anything in pink too?

Smurfette Celebrated With Fashion Show
SMURFETTE will have her own catwalk show during New York Fashion Week next month. A collection in tribute to the only female character in The Smurfs will be unveiled on February 13.
The project is to coincide with the release of new film, The Smurfs 2, for which Katy Perry voices Smurfette. Sony Pictures Animation has teamed up with Junk Food Art House on the show - Le Look Smurfette - expected to feature an entirely blue collection, curated by Lois Sakany and Sami Grand-Pierre of HighSnobette.
While little more is known about the fashion line, it's believed that it will include be a nod to the The Smurfs' Belgian creator Pierre Culliford (also known as alias, Peyo) in the form of a top emblazoned with the phrase "Parlez-Vous Anglais", reports WWD. The Smurfette fashion line will be stocked in department stores such as Selfridges, Bloomingdale's and Saks Fifth Avenue in the run-up to the film's release this summer.
Le Look Smurfette will take place at the Style 360 space presented by Conair in New York, at 6.30pm on Wednesday February 13.
Squeaky, I guess all of the clothes will be entirely blue!
