Everyone is entitled to their opinions about everything, including the Smurfs, but some folks feel that they have the right to just go on and on about things like "SEASON 5 RUINED THE SMURFS FOREVER!!!" while offering nothing else that is even remotely constructive...like, say, a fanfiction series of their own that totally ignores what Season 5 did?
I'm sure some folks out there can emphasize with your feelings about the bad turns the cartoon show has taken with the characters and situations, or how Hefty got upstaged by Gutsy in the 2011 Smurfs movie, or whatever it is about the Smurfs that ticks you off. One of my beefs has been that Peyo had the nerve to try having Papa Smurf be attracted to Smurfette. Or that the Smurfs don't respect Grouchy's feelings when it comes to hugging. But you know what? I like creating fiction as a vehicle for addressing my beefs. I like that I can have Smurfette tell Papa Smurf that she can't return the same kind of affections he has for her because she can't love him like that. I like that I can have Grouchy have friends among the Smurfs who understand that he doesn't like to be hugged. It may not be canonized work, mind you, but I like that I can have my say on the matter in a way that isn't like being an annoying telemarketer always bugging people with a product they want to sell.
An important thing we should try to keep in mind is that THE WORLD DOESN'T OWE US A THING!!! It's a blessing that we've gotten the Smurfs to be on TV for nine years despite the wrong turns it's taken. It's a blessing that we finally have a live-action/CGI movie about the Smurfs, let alone the fact that it's even a new movie about them. It's a blessing that Peyo's family even cares to continue publishing Smurf comic books long after the original Peyo has died. To assume that the world owes us a product that's according to our standards of quality is in essence setting ourselves up for constant disappointment, because the world WILL NEVER GIVE US EVERYTHING THAT WE WANT. It's okay to not like something, but it's not an excuse to mount yourself up on a pedestal and think the world's gone down the drain because this or that didn't meet your standards.
Time to move on. And if you're expecting something like a Hefty and Smurfette romance story, the best advice I can give you is... CREATE IT YOURSELF!!!

I love to write or create fanfic but unlike you I don't have the time digging in as deep as you
can do,Vic.
I just need some support I'm not gonna just let my paint dry for nothing.

But my ideas of fanfics always floating around in my head all the time.
Currently busying on change my golf swing.

Not always I agree with everysmurf's opinions here, but I'm not the one that shall take the trouble to try to impose my opinions on the other Smurfs. Let alone repeating them all the time (by the way, concerning this, I imagine that not even Brainy Smurf would get to do it). As well as I'm not obliged to agree with other ones. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
As I said before on other topic, healthy and friendly discussions about the Smurfs can even enrich our minds. And make this site smurfier too! ![[Cool]](cool.gif)
