Just a question that has me confused for some time: are Baker Smurf and Chef Smurf the same character in the comics, or they are separate characters? And is Cook Smurf the alternative name for Chef Smurf?

I'm not sure about that... But in my fanfic both are actually a smurf called "Chef & Baker"

In the Smurf comic books they are two separate characters. From the 1992 story "The Finance Smurf" onward, Baker Smurf wears a floppy white Smurf hat in the same manner as Slouchy Smurf in the cartoon show as well as a white tank top. I used that appearance for Greedy Smurf's kitchen helper Biscotti Smurf in my fanfiction series.

In the cartoon, there is just Greedy Smurf, so I guess Baker Smurf and Chef Smurf are rather modern characters.

In the original comic books, Greedy wasn't a chef...and he still isn't in the modern ones.

Yup. Greedy looked like this in the comics:

And in the 2011 movie:

Yep, just because HB united Greedy with Chef to form cartoon Greedy. ![[yum!]](graemlins/yumyum.gif)

This is the first time that I have seen a Smurf who is over-weight. Smurfs in the most part look alike and it is hard to identify them unless they wear something that separates them for the others (e.g. Brainy's glassess).
Even in the comic stories and the cartoon series, Greedy does not appear over-weight. The 2011 film is different, but appropriately depicts a Smurf who is a glutton.

He must keep in shape with all that running around, trying to keep one step ahead of Baker Smurf's rolling pin.

Yeah. Also running away from Gargamel and Azreal should get him some exercise. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
