Topic: Leaked The Smurfs (2011) DVD

I'm not supporting this kind of product just bought it from a store near my house and just test it if this "leaked" DVD quality can be comparable to the genuine release this December.

Here's some pictures of it.
Sorry for flash i used a 5 year old point and shoot camera that it will be too dark to shoot
without flash.
It appears that this one got a proper front cover
and back cover but at front it quite messy.
And they got the disc labeled in a good way.
For this kind of product what really matters and concern is the video quality and sound quality.
Picture quality is pretty good almost the same
quality as what you get from the genuine DVD.
But this is a 4.7 GB single layer DVD so it looked
a bit more pixelated than the 8.5 GB DVD that
Most manufacturers uses. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)
And the framerate is quite unstable it skips a bit
but not enough to make the audio out of sync with
the pictures. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
It pretty watchable.
For audio it only have 2ch of Dolby Digital English language and a Thai language track in very
low quality like was recorded in the theaters with
cellphone. ![[Mad]](mad.gif)
English audio quality is good but it suffers some
bit rate problems make sound quality especially
the voice overs have an inconsistent quality,it
will sound crystal clear and sometime it will
lose some clarity.
It got all the scenes and be able to go from start
to finish without skip the smurfy end credits.
And being a "leaked" product means that they can
only get the feature film and no special features.

Overall this is a much above average leaked DVD
movie it got great picture quality and decent
audio quality and I didn't feel it as a waste of
money for this kind of quality it delivers it well
worth the $2.50 price of it or 80 baht.

But as i said i just buy it as a quality test for
a budget DVD movies.
And i'll still buy the Blu-ray+DVD combo with
smurfs Christmas carol for the best quality and
goodies from Special Features and DVD.

I saw a pirated copy of the film, you're talking about. I still have to wait for the OFFICIAL Blu-Ray / DVD combo pack.
