A little bit of dialogue that I was thinking of when it comes to Empath and his problem of communicating with his fellow Smurfs:
Empath: Here's the list that you wanted, Papa Smurf.
Papa Smurf: Empath, what exactly is this? I can't smurf a word of what you smurfed here!
Empath: It is the list that you requested this smurf to write.
Papa Smurf: I suppose that it is, but what you just smurfed me looks like it's been smurfed in another language.
Empath: Oh, that. It is the Psychelian language, Papa Smurf. Every Psyche is taught to read and write in that language.
Papa Smurf: When I asked you to smurf me the list, I was expecting that you would smurf it in Smurf language. I should have known that Psychelian is much easier undersmurfed when it is spoken rather than written.
Empath: This smurf knew you wanted the list promptly, Papa Smurf, and so this smurf wrote you the list as quickly as possible. This smurf should have realized that of all the languages you have mastered, Psychelian is not one of them.
Papa Smurf: I appreciate the effort, Empath, but next time please smurf me the list in Smurf so that I can undersmurf it.
Empath: This smurf understands, Papa Smurf.
And a little later on...
Empath: Here is the same list, Papa Smurf, but this time written in the best form of Smurf language that this smurf is able to write it in.
Papa Smurf: Very good, Empath. I will take a smurf at it.
(Empath begins to depart, but doesn't get far when he hears Papa Smurf giggling)
Empath: Is there a problem with the list, Papa Smurf?
Papa Smurf: I'm afraid your use of the word smurf smurfs something to be desired, Empath. Every Smurf smurfing this list would probably smurf that you're smurfing in gibberish.
Empath: This smurf naturally assumed that the Smurf language was simply a matter of word substitution, Papa Smurf.
Papa Smurf: Empath, the Smurf language is not that easy. It has smurfed through generations of Smurfs that have smurfed the language into what it is today. Even your fellow Smurfs smurf mistakes when it comes to using the word smurf.
Empath: But every Smurf here seems to speak the language quite easily, whereas this smurf can only speak in Psychelian. This smurf does not understand why this smurf would only be able to understand Smurf but not be able to speak it.
Papa Smurf: Be patient, my little Empath. You will learn to someday speak in Smurf like your fellow Smurfs. Just for now, though, try not to use the word smurf when you're smurfing me lists in Smurf.
Empath: This smurf understands, Papa Smurf. It's just that it makes this smurf not feel like a true Smurf.
Papa Smurf: Being a Smurf isn't about what you say, Empath, it's about what you feel and what you do, and it smurfs from only one place -- inside you. Don't let anything any Smurf smurfs about you smurf you otherwise, because to me, you will always be a Smurf.
Empath: This smurf understands, Papa Smurf, and appreciates the thought.

Well, here's some dialogue that I was thinking for Empath and Smurfette's honeymoon where his language problem is fixed for good:
Smurfette: Empath, what do you smurf here?
Empath: It's a map of the island that the leader of this village gave this smurf for our hiking trip, Smurfette. He says that it should smurf us a good route that will let us smurf our way around the mountain to smurf the sights and smurf us...
Smurfette: Empath, did you hear what you just smurfed?
Empath: Well, this smurf did say that this map should smurf us a good route that will let us smurf our way around the mountain and...
Smurfette: Empath, you're doing it! You're finally speaking in Smurf clearly!
Empath: Great Ancestors! This smurf just realized this for himsmurf. Moreover, all of this smurf's thoughts are now in Smurf language. But how is any of this possible?
Smurfette: I don't know. You usually smurf that you speak in Smurf whenever you're very angry or very sad, but other times you would be smurfing nonsense. But here it's like...
Empath: This smurf had normal feelings and it just suddenly smurfed out of the blue. There was no extreme smurfing that this smurf smurfed inside me.
Smurfette: Maybe you are experiencing an extreme emotion right now, Empath...that of smurfing in love with me.
Empath: This smurf would never thought that it would smurf being married to you for this smurf to finally speak in Smurf clearly. This honeymoon is smurftainly full of surprises.
Smurfette: Well, however it smurfened, I'm glad that you're becoming the Smurf that you were smurfed to be, and I won't smurf back a single moment of loving you just for that, Empath.
Empath: This smurf will not regret it at all, Smurfette.

The problem was intended to get funnier than that, if you can call it funny: Sometime during the ten years between Empath's final return from Psychelia and his marriage to Smurfette, he develops a retroactive case of his speech patterns reverting to baby talk, and not only that, Empath ends up even acting like a baby. Traveler realizes that it is because Empath never had his first word ritual that his fellow Smurfs went through (if you remember "Baby's First Word"), and so he helps rectify that situation through some time manipulation so that Empath as an infant goes through the ritual, thus adult Empath's speech patterns and behavior return to normal, leaving him wondering what he's doing in a diaper.

i love that idea, and I'll bet Smurfette loves seeing him in a diaper too.
