The following are dialogues that I imagine the Psyche Master will have with Empath at the end of his visits to the Smurf Village:
(Upon Empath's return from his first visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you. I sense that you are different, that you no longer see yourself as a Psyche.
Empath: Papa Smurf has convinced this one that he is a Smurf.
Psyche Master: But you do not think or feel as they do. They are raised as savages, and you are not raised to be like them.
Empath: Admittedly, this one felt uncomfortable around Papa Smurf. But the rest of the Smurfs are not as savage as this one thought them to be.
Psyche Master: They cannot help but be exactly what they are. That is why you must choose the way of the Psyche over their ways as your guidance.
Empath: If this one was born as one of them, it would stand to reason that this one will become like them in due time. What will you do with this one at that point?
Psyche Master: We will deal with that when the time comes, if indeed you embrace their ways over the way of the Psyche. For now, you shall continue your studies, and we shall have no more discussions about your visit to the Smurf Village. Is that clear?
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
(Upon Empath's return from his second visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you.
Empath: Psyche Master, this one was wrong about what this one ever thought about Papa Smurf. He has no intention of ever hurting this one in any way.
Psyche Master: I sense that you're becoming more accustomed to their ways, even though you still think and feel like a Psyche.
Empath: It is hard for this one to do otherwise, Psyche Master, but this one feels no shame in appearing as they do.
Psyche Master: It is in your nature to become as they are, Empath. Nonetheless, you are still expected to follow the way of the Psyche while you are here among the community of your fellow Psyches. You cannot let what you learn as a Smurf interfere with your studies. Is that clear?
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: Then return to your sleeping quarters and prepare for your training to resume. We will end this discussion about your visit.
(Upon Empath's return from his third visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you.
Empath: Psyche Master, this one has been experiencing more emotions. They seem so...natural for this one to experience them.
Psyche Master: I sensed that in you, Empath. It is why you are trained to control your thoughts and emotions here. You cannot let what you feel have control over you. You can only sense what others are feeling, but you are not to experience them yourself.
Empath: This one feels like it's denying this one's true self to keep this one from experiencing emotions.
Psyche Master: You are trained as a Psyche. The emotions of others are what you should be sensing, not your own. You must set aside those things that the Smurfs are teaching you about yourself that are interfering with your studies and embrace the Psychelian way. They will be your undoing.
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: You will return to your sleeping quarters and prepare for your training to resume. We will end this discussion about your visit.
(Upon Empath's return from his fourth visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you.
Empath: Psyche Master, this one is starting to prefer the Smurf way of living over the Psychelian way. This one is now experiencing the feeling of...having fun.
Psyche Master: I have sensed that in you, Empath. It is unfortunate that you are slowly becoming like the savage beings you were born among.
Empath: They are not the savages you claim them to be! They are different from us in that they are not afraid of expressing themselves, even though one of this one's friends is a Smurf who behaves like a Psyche in keeping his emotions to himself.
Psyche Master: Their form of expression is perverse, Empath. I cannot fathom how you would not see that their only interest is indulging in their own desires, no matter who gets hurt.
Empath: But they don't hurt each other. They all trust each other enough to know that none of them can touch anyone among them in the wrong way. And they're not all about indulging their own desires. They like sharing things with each other, not keeping things to themselves. It's unfortunate that the Psyches cannot be allowed to have any fun here.
Psyche Master: A Psyche's purpose here is to learn and to follow the way of the Psyche. Having fun belongs to savages, and you will do your best to remember that before you question how things are in Psychelia. Is that understood?
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master. It is not this one's intent to cause discord and division.
Psyche Master: Then we shall leave off on the discussion of your visit. Return to your quarters and prepare for your training to resume.
(Upon Empath's return from his fifth visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you.
Empath: Psyche Master, why is this one always expected to return here? This one is sensing from his fellow Smurfs and from Papa Smurf that they wish for this one to stay in their village.
Psyche Master: Because your training as a Psyche is not yet complete. I sense that you are beginning to think the Smurf Village is your home and not Psychelia.
Empath: It is strange for this one to admit this, but this one does feel more at home with the Smurfs than this one does with his fellow Psyches, even though this one has been raised as a Psyche for most of this one's life.
Psyche Master: But you are thinking more like a Smurf than like a Psyche. It is natural for you to want to be with them.
Empath: This one is...confused with what this one wants. This one cannot let go of what you and the Smurfs are teaching this one, even if they are contrary to each other.
Psyche Master: You will have to make a decision as to which path you will follow. For now, you are to remain here and continue your training as a Psyche until it is complete. You will obey me and your instructors while you are here, and you will not let what you have learned as a Smurf interfere with your studies. Is that understood?
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: Then return to your sleeping quarters and prepare for your training to resume. We will end this discussion now.
(Upon Empath's return from his sixth visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutation, Empath. I have been expecting you.
Empath: Psyche Master, Papa Smurf has been putting this one in charge of the Smurf Village recently. He feels that this one is ready to lead his people when he is not available.
Psyche Master: I have sensed that in you, Empath. It is interesting that he has put so much faith in you despite the fact that you are so different from him.
Empath: This one can't help but want to be like Papa Smurf. He has taught this one so much and this one wants to show how much this one appreciates what he has done.
Psyche Master: What he has done is corrupted your thinking and made you believe that you are like him.
Empath: This one is a Smurf. This one cannot change what this one is born as. All Papa Smurf has done is shown the truth of what this one really is.
Psyche Master: What you really are, Empath, is confused. You want to please Papa Smurf because you are conditioned to do that.
Empath: This one wants to please Papa Smurf because this one loves Papa Smurf. That's what I feel for him.
Psyche Master: You cannot feel love for those whom you serve, Empath. He is a leader and you are simply his follower.
Empath: But the other Smurfs also serve Papa Smurf out of love. He is their father, and he is my father as well.
Psyche Master: Enough! You are showing yourself to be independent of your fellow brethren here in Psychelia. You cannot behave like you are an individual. You must behave as though you are part of a community, regardless of who and what you are. Is that understood?
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: Then return to your sleeping quarters and prepare for your training to resume. We will end this discussion now.
(Upon Empath's return from his seventh visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you. I sense that there is something...different about you.
Empath: It is what this one and his fellow Smurfs are going through. This one can feel hormones rushing through this one's veins, as if this one has the urge to...procreate.
Psyche Master: Yet there are no female Smurfs in your village.
Empath: No, there isn't. There is, however, a group of beings called the Aphrodisians who have been...attracting our...attention. This one does feel some sort of attraction towards them.
Psyche Master: Have you mated with any of them?
Empath: No. They were called back to their own place and told to stop bothering males of other races. Yet this one still feels these urges.
Psyche Master: You will learn to control them here. The desire to procreate is also part of the world of savages. They cannot help but engage each other in this fashion. That is why we keep our thoughts in control and do not display ourselves for the perverse curiosity of others.
Empath: But isn't this one a product of such interaction? This one sometimes wonders what it would be like to be a father like Papa Smurf.
Psyche Master: It is not your place in here to know or even think on such things. We will help you maintain your mental purity to the best of our ability, but do not let what you have learned as a Smurf interfere with your studies here. You cannot let your fellow Psyches have such thoughts that would make them think of things that do not belong in the mind of a true Psyche. Is that understood?
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: Then return to your sleeping quarters and prepare for your training to resume. We will end this discussion now.
(Upon Empath's return from his eighth visit to the Smurf Village)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Salutations, Empath. I have been expecting you. I sense that you are becoming more independent of us, as if you dread returning here.
Empath: This one feels...trapped between two worlds, Psyche Master. This one feels like he belongs in the Smurf Village with his brethren, and yet this one also feels compelled to return here to complete this one's studies, as if this one has no choice but to do so.
Psyche Master: I know you desire to return to your own people. However, I cannot let you go until your training as a Psyche is complete.
Empath: But when will that training ever be complete? It feels as if this one is condemned to remain in this place forever, with no possibility of ever leaving.
Psyche Master: You will know only when the time comes, and not before. For now, you must not let the thoughts of home interfere with your studies here. Your fellow Psyches cannot ever be encouraged by your desire to leave this place for them to do the same. It is counterproductive to the goals of this community that you are still part of.
Empath: This one has no intention of encouraging anyone in here to leave Psychelia, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: Then we shall leave off the remainder of this discussion. Return to your sleeping quarters and prepare to resume your training.
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
(Upon Empath's final departure from Psychelia)
Empath: Empath Psyche, designation 1137-K, acknowledging his presence.
Psyche Master: Empath, the being you call Papa Smurf has requested your presence in the Smurf Village to celebrate your birthday. Therefore I am giving you permission to leave Psychelia at once to attend it.
Empath: This one acknowledges, Psyche Master.
Psyche Master: However, the leave I grant you this time is permanent. Once you leave Psychelia, you are never to return here again.
Empath: Psyche Master, this one does not understand why you would not wish this one to return. This one's training as a Psyche is not yet complete.
Psyche Master: As I see it, the rest of your training has been terminated. I cannot continue to train a Psyche whose mind is clouded with thoughts and feelings that do not belong to a true Psyche.
Empath: But that's part of what being a Smurf is, Psyche Master. I am a Smurf, and I should be allowed to experience those things.
Psyche Master: Don't call yourself 'I' in front of me, Empath! I know you are a Smurf, but here you are a Psyche, and here you are expected to act and behave like a Psyche. That Papa Smurf should not be wasting your time filling your mind with such trivial matters.
Empath: Wait a minute, Psyche Master! Papa Smurf has been everything to me but trivial or a time-waster. He cares enough to be with his little Smurfs, including me, not just sit above them all day like you do and order them around!
Psyche Master: CONTROL YOURSELF! (Empath is struck with a painful energy discharge.) Now you will do as I say. You will leave for the Smurf Village immediately, and you are to never come back here under any circumstances. You will be disconnected from the link of your fellow Psyches, and you will not be remembered by any of them. Acknowledge!
Empath: This one...acknowledges...Psyche Master.
