hello every one
can any one help me i have a papa smurf made of vinyl, he used to play a small disc like record that played the smurf song, but part of it was lost still have 1 of the disc, he is stamped with the c PEYO/ name i have him about 34 years.
can any one tell me any more history of my papa. thank you all

Welcome to BlueBuddies!
Sounds like you might have a Papa Smurf figure from the 1980s Mattel Talking Toys line. It is either from the Magic Talk Smurf Village Toy or the Magic Talk Papa's Laboratory Toy. What a fun toy!
You place the special Smurf figure on the disc area of the toy and then they speak! It's like a mini record player. The Smurf has a little record on its base and then just goes on top of the player. For example, Papa will say, "I'm Papa Smurf. Welcome to Smurf Village". You can also see more pictures in the 1983 Mattel Toy Catalog.

Whoops! I just re-read the title of your post where you say that your Papa is 12 inches tall. The Mattel Vinyl Smurfs are no where near that tall! Hopefully you can provide a picture so we can see your Smurf.

Musical Papa Smurf by Effe Bambole Franca
Records play the original "Smurf Song" by Father Abraham
Your Papa Smurf is from the late 1970s. The ones I have seen before measure about 21 inches tall. He is made out of vinyl and the red paint comes off very easily due to his age.
This musical Papa Smurf originally came with little colored records that are inserted in the back and play inside of him. The records are double-sided. Papa plays the original "Smurf Song" with Father Abraham!
Papa Smurf is articulated, as his arms, legs, nose and tail all move. And if you squeeze Pappa's nose - it squeaks!!!
The markings on the Smurf's back read:
EFFE
Bambole
Franca
Italy

Papa Smurf is manufactured by the Effe Bambola-Franca Company. Made in Italy. They are most well known for making fancy Italian dolls for girls back in the 1960s, 1970s & 1980s. Some of those dolls could walk so it's not surprising that they made Smurfs that could play music. They also made some plush Smurfs too.

i have only 1 record and i made a error of his hight sorry.
pappa is 20 inches in hight,lol his nose squeeks to thank u sassette
