Yes, Smurfette does have a tail. It is not show as it would be too risque as she is wearing a short skirt. I recalled, there is an image of her showing her tail in the comics where she is shown taking a shower.

Hi, Le Schtroumpf, welcome!! You can see in this link some Smurf wallpaers and in the first you can see Smurfette has really a tail. According to Onesimos, showing her tail formerly was something practically impossible for she used to wear her white dress all the time. ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif)

Yup, all of the Smurfs have little blue tails!
In the "The Fake Smurf" cartoon, Hogatha transforms herself into a Smurf only to find out that it wasn't the perfect impersonation. She was missing a tail! She knew she couldn't fool the Smurfs if she was without a tail. She had to improvise by painting a pea blue and gluing it on... and then the troubles really begin in the village! That was a funny episode.

By the way, "The Fake Smurf" episode is on the Smurfs DVD Season 1 Volume. This DVD has a lot of best Smurf cartoons on it, in my opinion.

She definitely has a tail but is it ladylike to show your little blue tail? That is etiquette I want to know!!!

Showing Smurfette's tail will show what is underneth her skirt, such as her underwear. There is no need to show that as Smurfette is not intended to be sexualized.

If they don't show a little bump where a tail should be when her clothes move from simple movements, then something is wrong.

Is this an official image? Who made it? I'd rather see one in the comics, promotional image posters seem less canonical.

Yes, the "Extreme Smurfs" picture is an official picture that is (c) Peyo.
And they did show Smurfette taking a shower with a Peeping Tom Smurf hiding in the bushes taking a peek!

If it did show Smurfette's tail when she was wearing a dress, it wouldn't work, simply because...well, because!

How else would Smurfette have contracted the purple disease in the cartoon show episode "The Purple Smurfs", if not through the same mode of transmission as any other Smurf?
Anyway, I like drawing Smurfette showing her tail, and I personally don't care what other people think of that. Either she's a Smurf or she isn't, and I intend to depict her as the Smurf she is.

Funny I had never considered this before. I just always thought if Smurfette's tail is shown-fine and if it is not shown-that's also fine. I would not be surprised either way as I have always believed she had a nice blue tail ever since Papa Smurf turned her into a True Blue Smurf.
