I have 4 really cute ducks that somebody gave me with a few smurfs. They are made in Germany and have the Schleich stamp on them. Does any body know if they are anything to do with Smurfs? I thought they might be part of a playset but haven't been able to find one that includes them.

Hi grandma smurf,
Welcome to BlueBuddies! Your ducks sound really cute! I don't think they are part of any "official" Smurf Playset though. Schleich is well known for making the Smurf figures, but they also make wonderful animal figures too! Just about every animal you can imagine. Your ducks could be part of the "Farm Life" Series. You could certainly combine them all to make your own fun playsets!

Speaking of Smurfs and Ducks... The company Plastoy came out with rubber Smurf toys for the bath. In each of the two sets, there is a Smurf with a rubber duckie!

Here are some more pictures of Schleich Birds... The details on the plastic figures is quite amazing.
The first picture of waterfowl features ducks, geese and swans. The second picture features an assortment of birds - ostrich, peacock, eagle, parrot, pelican, chicken, duck and raven. The last picture shows birds of prey - vulture, hawk, opsrey, falcon and eagle.

With the Smurfs and ducks theme still running through my mind... it makes me think of a book from the early 1970s called, "Dilly Duckling and the Goblins". It is a Merry-Go-Round Book and was published by Rylee. Peyo and Matagne are listed as the the author and illustrator for the book.
This is sort of a before-they-were-called-Smurfs book. The Smurfs are just known as little goblins and meet up with a this cute little duckling called Dilly.

Dilly Duckling and the Goblins LOL!! I never thought of the Smurfs as goblins before but I can see the similarity!
