Should be first! But I suppose it was beaten by two other great cartoons, and it's really great that our little Smurfs ranked so high. I'm surprised Thundercats and Inspector Gadget weren't higher on the list though and very surprised Danger Mouse wasn't in the Top 10!

Actually, The smurfs should be at the number 1
Because this is smurfs is one of the only 2 in the top 20 list that ever made into 21st
century and still smurfy and the smurfs is
cutiest as the cartoon can be without make
it look "silly looking"!
I really have to give this list to the #2,TMNT
ranks above the smurfs because even my dad
still like it and he's 56.
And the #1,Ducktales i never watch it before
but because it holds the daffy duck theme
it sures scores better than smurfs which is debut
in US less than 10 years versus the spin-off
which is based on the incredubly popular
charaters and with WB behind it almost 50 years
at that time.
Sadly,The Snorks,smurfs sister series i could say
are not on the in the top 10.

At least the Smurfs got on the Top 10, though I too think it should be first place. Mainly because in my honest opinion, it was one of the most unique cartoons of the 80's. Plus around the time it debuted, other cartoonists were too cookie cutter, so when the Smurfs launched in the US, it really put a new face on animation.

OMG Smurfs #3? That's really good! but they should've been #1! I've heard of babar, never of danger mouse, and heard and seen the show a pup named scooby doo its just scooby doo as young kids and figuring out mysteries!

Well I think The Smurfs should have been #1 because it covered everything. It was funny, often exciting, sometimes sad (e.g. Squeaky), you often learnt good life lessons from it without having them shoved in your face. And it does it all without the need of cheap, infantile humour or excessive action and violence, which seems to be a rarity in cartoons nowadays. My Top 3 would have been:
1. The Smurfs
2. Inspector Gadget
3. Thundercats
