"Smurf Justice for June Foray" Pushes For Just What It Says By Maxie Zeus @ Original Article 06-08-2010, 12:07 AM
Dave Courvoisier and Bob Bergen are promoting "Smurf Justice for June Foray," an effort to give the grand dame of voice acting a cameo appearance in the upcoming Smurfs theatrical film.
Foray, whose extensive career in the animation field encompasses work on Rocky and Bullwinkle and Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies along with much else, voiced Jokey Smurf in the iconic animated series. She has not, however, been approached to appear in any capacity in the new film. Courvoisier and Bergen are seeking to rectify that.
If successful, it would not mark the first time that Foray made a small appearance in a film based on one of her signature properties. She appeared in the 1992 film Boris and Natasha as "Autograph Woman."
Courvoisier and Bergen have set up a Facebook page to help organize a lobbying effort on Foray's behalf.

I agree! I think Hollywood should at least give June Foray at least an opportunity to loan a bit of her voice for the new film. It doesn't surprise me Bob Bergen and Dave Courvoisier have arranged this. Thanks for sharing this.

June Foray! Jokey's voice! My smurf, i remeber back in september i went to smurf.com (bbecause it said that on the smurf dvd i bought) and i saw the producers and what they thought, and June Foray said something like "Well, when i saw how Jokey Smurf's laugh was it was written Huk Huk Huk! So i knew the excact voice to say" She was probably in her 70s or 80s if i rember and she did her voice as Jokey again like "Huk Huk Huk! I gotta suprise!" She was great, i think they should let June Foray be in the smurf movie, i think all the people who were in the smurfs and still do a fantastic job should be in the smurfs, and i think if Peyo was still alive he would say "June your in for Jokey's voice for one last time!!"

Animation Magazine has picked up the story! original article here
Facebook Campaign Seeks Smurfs Role for June Foray Friday, June 18, 2010 By: Thomas J. McLean
The internet campaign to get octogenarian actress Betty White to host Saturday Night Live paid off when she appeared on the show May 9 — and voice over artist Bob Bergen is hoping the same strategy can land June Foray a part in Sony’s new feature film The Smurfs.
Bergen, who voices Porky Pig among many other characters, has launched a Facebook page called “Smurf Justice for June Foray.”
Foray, 93, needs no introduction to animation fans as the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Looney Tunes’ Granny, Chatty Cathy and countless others.
While Foray originally voiced Jokey Smurf, Bergen does not advocate that she replace Paul Ruebens, who has been cast to voice the character in the new film, only that Foray be given a cameo of some sort to recognize her contribution to the Smurfs and to animation voice over.
Bergen’s Facebook page, which to date has nearly 800 fans, can be found at click here
