Hi :-) has anyone noticed that it is really difficult to find smurfs with a good paint quality? Maybe I am just overly critical and a perfectionist but in the new smurf lines made by Jakks its very hard to find a smurf that is painted well, at least in my stores. There seems to be a lot of paint chipping and paint bleeding or rubbing and don't get me started on all the cross eyed smurfs out there....I collect the figures to display them and just noticed there are a lot of imperfections and wanted to get a convo going. I also noticed a lot of the early figures have white pupils in their eyes and the newer figures don't. Which do you all like better? It also seems the quality of paint in the earlier figures were a lot better. Let me know! :-) ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I have a few figurines where the paint job is a little less than desirable. It's frustrating. Especially when it is a very rare figurine that isn't made anymore and I had to go through some difficult Ebay auctions to obtain it.

do you collect the Jakks Pacific line? I have a few of the older PVC figures from a kid but now I mostly just collect only the Jakks figures and I started to notice how horrible the paint jobs were. Its really hard to find a smurf with good eyes or paint smears. I get a lot of mine in new packaging off e-bay. I live in the states and its really hard to find the figures in any stores. I am not really sure why but none in my area really carry the new smurf line. It is upsetting to get a figure and when it arrives in the mail the paint is bleeding, scratched up, or rubbing off but I am a perfectionist :-)

I've never heard of Jakks before. I collect the Schleich ones.

Jakks Pacific makes new Smurf figures since probably around 2008 or 2009.
They are considered "action figures" bc their heads and arms move but they have little articulation really but I think the company has done a good job of capturing their likenesses from the cartoon series.
here is a set of mine

Oh yeah, I do have a few of these that I got as gifts. I didn't realize what they were called, though. These are pretty good.
