Your "The Smurf Pappa" video is amazing! What great work... thanks for sharing your talent with us!
The images are smurftastic and there are some great lines in the movie. "Snorks and Fraggels can be careless, but not Smurfs..." I loved that one!
It was fun seeing the Snork too!

Great job, Fatmoshe!! Did you use any kind of 3D animation - the same from Shrek and Barbie movies, for example? I really hope you'll go on with your excellent work. Thanks a lot for showing! ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif)

thanks for the positive feedback.
i do everything myself- from the modeling, to the rigging, to the animation, to the rendering, to the editing. i even do all of the voices myself.
if you saw my fight club video, you can tell that my hefty still needs a little bit of work.
i use Maya for the animation and AfterEffects/Premier for the editing.
I think I'm doing Avatar next.

That's cool. I too work in Maya. My strenghts though are the character design and modeling. Rigging poses as a challenge (but can complete a simple rig for the character) and animation still needs more work.
In 2008 I graduated from a digital animation course and have posted my demo reel if you want to have a look at it:

I find Smurfs and the Godfather a poor fit, totally incongruous to each other.

It seems your opinion is in the minority Vic George 2K8.
Art is subjective, but there is no denying the talent of this video in terms of animation, and cinematography. It's well done.
Second, here is how the Smurfs and the Godfather ARE a good fit:
1) The idea of family being important 2) The idea of group loyalty 3) The designated roles each family member plays in the hierarchy 4) The importance of the head of the family (i.e. Papa and the Don)
The parts that are a "poor fit" are what is known as humor. Humor generally draws upon incongruous / contradictory / ironic situations and brings about levity through their juxtaposition. Somehow that has escaped you.
I.e., the Smurfs are extremely kind, loving and good natured (no gambling, murders and the like). Whereas the mafia world is embroiled with crime, malice and vengeance. Contrasting the extremes of two worlds is what we humans call "humorous".
Fatmoshe you did a good job.
