Yesterday was a very important holiday in Brazil: 187 years ago (1822) my country declared itself independent of Portugal - Brazil was the only Portuguese colony in America. So...

Here's Smurf dressed as an Independence Dragoon. They were Brazilian guard soldiers to prince Pedro I, who had proclaimed our independence. A curiosity: did you know the U.S.A. were the first country to recognize Brazilian independence? ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Thank you very much, Smurfriends! Very kind of you all!! P.S.: Brainy Snaeha, feel free to put the subject in your "Book of Quotations"! GreenDay Smurfs, you not only can post your Smurf fan artwork here but also MUST do it! (LAUGH) And about Marina, what do you really need? Just because I found some pics in this link, so I hope this helps you for a while! Kyle should be nicer to Hanna... What if she have inherited her father's strength?? Nice picture, Sammy!! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

My first attempt at the character Lilliput, the owner of the tavern Empath and Polaris enter into in "Smurfed Behind: The Departure":

She's exactly the way you described her, Vic. She has a very likeable and good-humored look! Great job. ![[Happy Smurf]](graemlins/Happy_Smurf.gif)

Not quite...Lilliput is supposed to "big and broad, but otherwise beautiful", sort of like a Nell Carter or a Carolyn Manheim done as a woodnymph.

Smurfaroo, what fantastic new pictures!
Squeaky, your soldier is out of this world! The details are simply amazing. I enjoyed learning about the history behind your picture too - thanks for sharing it!
Sammy, great pic! Kyle is sure being a stinker to Hanna!
Vic George, I think Lilliput came out rather well. There is a definite warmth about her.
Cool Smurf, your notebook picture has blown me away! I LOVE it... you make Vanity look soooo adorable!!!! You do such a good job on the facial expressions. Awesome pic!
