You may have already heard of this, but UK tabloid newspaper the daily mail just ran a story on a whole bunch of Croatians who attempted to beat the world record for a gathering of human smurfs - and failed because of their poor research!!
The greatest irony - and example of some of the shonkiest research ever- is that they say smurfs were created in 'Belgian' (Didn't know thre was a country going by this name!) in the 1920s (WRONG!)
They deserve points for trying and those kids are soo cute (albeit a little puzzled) heheh

That's funny, but I think they also need to work on the hats. They don't look like that in the cartoon, they are too high and the shape isn't quite right.

It really looks like they're wearing socks for hats.

LOL, yeah I know. But seriously, look at them. They look nothing like that in the cartoons or figurines. They're too high and the wrong shape.

Not unless you consider them from the vantage point of how the Smurfs originally appeared in the comic book version of "The Smurfs And The Magic Flute". It must have taken Peyo a while to get them to the shape and form we all are familiar with.
