I had this crazy dream last night that I was watching a live action Smurfs episode and a younger Paul Winchell was portraying Gargamel. It was really strange.

I made a video blog all about it and even mentioned Vic George and showed his latest picture that he posted. The image of Gargamel in this dream was probably influenced from that image.

Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajgDacgWMDQ

Interesting dream. By the way, Paul Winchell's Gargamel voice is a variant of his D!ck Dastardly voice from the Hanna-Barberra Wacky Races as well as Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines, both from the late 1960s. I particular remember the latter show where D!ck Dastardly sings that song "Stop The Pigeon".

Here's the song in all its comical glory.

By the way, the reason I draw Gargamel with long scraggly hair on his sides is that his shorter bristly hair is rather difficult for me to draw.

That is very interesting...I think the movie of the Smurfs will be all CGI though (well from what I have read anyway.) As much as it would be great to hear the original voices of both Gargamel and Papa Smurf, the sad truth will be not likely. Hopefully, though, they will find the right voices actors to fill that role extremely well.

If I get some time I might try designing a smurf or two in 3D soon...

Thanks for sharing your video, Shane...

Stay Creative.

Thanks. It was a cool dream. I just had another dream last night about the Smurfs, about Clumsy. I was trying to help him find some place it was weird. The Smurf village was in the middle of some suburban neighborhood and I was running through buildings looking for Clumsy.

I know what you mean about the original voices and such. I still say actor John O'Hurley, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641417/ , could probably do a good Papa Smurf. I wish they would consider him.
