In the story "Monkey On Your Smurf", the Smurfs are being affected by microprobes injected into them by a group of beings called the Chimpanzians who were studying the Smurfs for scientific research. The story itself is basically a Smurf version of a Star Trek: Voyager episode called "Scientific Method". In this scene, Hefty's rapid aging is equivalent to that which happened to Commander Chakotay (minus the hair loss).

Star Trek: Voyager was one of my most favorite TV series, tohugh i can`t remeber that episode you describe, I must have missed it. Thanks for the info.
