Has anyone heard of such creatures - can someone tell me where I might see one of these, over at the board someone said that they might be related to smurfs and snorks...

I have never heard of such creatures, so any help would be very helpful!

Strangely, I just saw one of these creatures a day or so ago.

It was riding a rocket, had green skin, and kind of looked life an elf.

In fact, it looked very suspiciously like a "Happy Little Elf" from The Simpsons, which I imagine (with this new found knowledge) is kind of a combination between a Smurf and and Astrosnik.

As an aside, the Happy Little Elves on The Simpsons really make me laugh.

You know, the last time I saw some Astrosniks was last summer, possibly around July in the Indianapolis, Indiana area.

From what I saw, it seemed to be all eight of the regular Sniks figures that were produced by McDonald's.

Also, I have read on this board that they do resemble the Smurfs in a way -- but as many may have discovered, they were not created by Peyo, the original creator. They have that appearance though, because like the Smurfs, they originated in Belgium, where this character style was originated; however, unlike the Smurfs, they were created by a different entity, just as the Snorks (another host of characters that had their roots in Belgium) were...but that's another story! ;-)

As for colors, the standard Sniks are green, but I have seen blue and black ones as well.

I hope this helps. :-)

Hi Everyone,

The Bully company was the first company to be licensed to manufacture and distribute the Smurf PVC line on a large scale in the late 1960s. The Bully company began making Astrosnik toys in the 1970s. Astrosniks are green skinned aliens that come from Snikeria. The first Astrosniks made by Bully had black skin, red skin, and then pink skin. Then they began making the ones with green skin that are the most common. Their popularity never really soared in Europe like the Smurfs. Then in 1983, 1984, and 1985 McDonald's featured the Astrosniks as the prize in their Happy Meals. 1983 there were 8 Sniks released as a St. Louis regional Happy Meal, 1984 there were 6 Sniks released as a St. Louis regional Happy Meal, and in 1985 there were 11 Sniks released in an Oklahoma regional Happy Meal promotion. The Sniks from 1985 are the hardest ones to get and do not have a McDonal's "M" on them like the 1983 and 1984 ones do. The 1985 Sniks are the same figures that were also sold in toy stores in 1985. They came on cards and are marked Bully /Schaper (American Comapny that distributed them). This is when the Sniks enjoyed a modest popularity in the U.S. and a bunch of licensed merchandise starting showing up including story books, bubble bath, children's clothing, plush dolls, party supplies, etc. They were never extremely popular and these items are in great demand today when they are found.

Bully continues to make Astrosniks and release new ones. Unfortunately there are never any new mold variations. They are always paint color variations. Within the last 2-3 years the Astrosniks were available as a premium at German Pizza Hut restaurants with a kid's meal.

This is probably more than any of you ever wanted to know about Astrosniks and I don't mean to keep pushing everyone to my website because this is a great one but you can see my Astrosniks collection at mhl2.home.mindspring.com/astrosniks.html

Hello all!

I hope someone here knows anything about the Astrosniks house and (astro)sniks also. I have the big astrosnik house with a blue space shuttle on top (about 30cm / 12" dia) and a black cave below. I got it in the early 80's. I read somewhere that it was made in a limited edition and is very rare today. Anyone knows what it could be worth?

I have been searching for one! I have every snik but the house and the dog. I am also missing the snik inside the personal size rocket too. I am not sure of the value but would you be willing to sell?

Hello all,

having trouble researching these 2;

 -
Are these Sniks?? 1980s Bully PVC gold and silver figurines

They are only marked Bully. Don't remember if they were from a McD happy meal or not. They look somewhat similar to a black version of a Snik, but no helmets. Haven't been able to find any reference to any gold or silver Sniks/Astrosniks, except the robot one, which these look nothing like.
If any of you very knowledgable people here happens to know anything about these, I would be eternally grateful for any tip or info!

Hi sniksnak,

Welcome to BlueBuddies!

Astrosniks (Sniks) were created in 1975 by the German company called Bullyland also known as Bully. Later on in the 1980s, Astrosniks were licensed to many different manufacturers to produce lots of fun memorabilia! 1983 & 1984 were big years for Sniks merchandise.

Astrosniks McDonald Happy Meals Toys are very popular Snik figures. I don't think your silver and gold Sniks are from McDonalds though.

Black Sniks

The Black Astrosniks have a lot of gold and silver details. Your Snik is called Joker or JokerSnik. Both the golden Joker Snik and the silver Joker Snik are from 1975. There is a cute blue version of Joker Snik from 2002. (Perhaps I like it so much because he reminds me of a Smurf!)

Green Sniks

The gold Robot Snik or RoboSnik you mentioned is quite cute too!

The green astrosniks are the most common color in the series. Most likely people have an image of the green sniks in their minds when they think of sniks!

Hi Sassette,
thank you so uch for a quick and very thorough reply - was very curious as to what "type" of snik they might be and would not have guessed Joker without your helpful info :-)
Very cool to see pics of "my" Joker-Sniks in better condition as well as hearing they are from '75.
Indeed, both the robot-Snik and that blue Smurf-like Joker-Snik are very cute - thank you for including all the pics and research. Such a great help, thanks!

Hello everyone! Can you help me identify these guys?
I'm new to this boards, so let me say, great job with the site and the community! [Big Grin]

I come with a question for those of you who are expert collectors - I have been trying to identify these little fellows below - the only thing I know is they were made by Bully. But they don't look like Astrosniks, and they don't look like Smurfs... [Confused]

I really hope you can give me some direction!
Here they are:

Thanks in advance!!

Hello, Ste, smurfy welcome to Bluebuddies! [Happy Smurf]
Well, I think your little pals are really Astrosniks, since besides the green ones there are orange and black Astrosniks too, according to the time when they were launched.I hope this helps! [Astro Smurf] [Swoof] [Wink]
