Hi all! I am new to blue buddies and have a few questions. My Grandmother recently passed away and left me all her collectibles. She was an avid collector of smurfs, disney, dolls, trains, avon bottles, and especially looney tunes. I now have her smurf collection. I have been doing lots of research and she had a few of the harder to find figures. I have been photographing & compiling a catalog. My problem is that these figures are pretty dusty & dirty. She kept ALL her collections displayed on shelves lining the walls of her entire house. I'm not sure I even have all of the smurf collection yet (tons of boxes still to open). What is the best way to clean these figures?? I also have some smurf items that I can't find info about yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi Tracy,
Welcome to BlueBuddies!
My condolences about your Grandmother. I'm sure she would be pleased that you are taking the time and effort to explore and clean up her prized collections. As for cleaning Smurfs, many people recommend special solutions but I personally clean my figures with just warm water and a mild soap.
It sounds like you have quite the collection. If you have any specific questions about anything smurfy, just let us know - I'm sure someone around here will have some answers! And feel free to post some pictures too!
Best of luck in organizing and cleaning your collections. Keep us posted on your progress!
Happy Smurfing, Sassette

Hi tlbb if you're going to sell the smurfs then use the bluebuddies checklists. Then you can just give buyers a link to your list and you can keep it up to date as you sell stuff. There is a space for notes on the checklist and you can tell buyers if the smurf is dirty or missing a part or something.
What smurfs don't you know about? Theres a search on bluebuddies that can help. it works real well. Type in the word and press the button and you're good to go! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
