HI Smurf Collectors, I have come across a pewter smurf character standing next to what looks like a giant candle. Celebration is engraved on the bottom. I can't find anything like it, and I'm wondering if it's worth anything, or if it's authentic, or what???
Can any of you experts tell me anything about it? Thanks! Chris

Hi cam970,
Yes, your pewter Smurf is authentic!
It is actually a naughty Smurf ready to blow-up a stick of dynamite. He has his back turned with his fingers in his ears because it's sure to make a big bang!
There are several different Pewter Smurfs - like Baby Smurf with Blocks, Lantern Smurf, Beer Smurf, Emperor Smurf, Postman Smurf and even a Gargamel with a Net... just to name a few. They are the same size as a regular PVC Smurf and also came out in 1980. The "regular" pewter Smurfs are valued at about $30 - 40 each.
Your Pewter Smurf is worth more because it is not just the pewter Smurf figure but also a "scene" on a base / stand.
Thanks for the question and a look at your cute Smurf!
Hope this helps!! ![[Happy Smurf]](graemlins/Happy_Smurf.gif)
