I've never seen the Smurfs take a shower or take a bath. I mean yah there are no toilets but showers or baths? There must be at least one episode with a bath or something.

Yes, the smurfs indeed do bath, just in a old-fashioned way. There's one scene in which Papa Smurf is sitting inside a wooden tub, having a nice, quiet bubble bath. (That is, until Harmony Smurf comes running in and starting to play a off-key tune, causing Papa to drop his soap, lol.)

I can't remember the title of the episode in which the scene showed up, though. -_-

In a page from "The Smurfic Games" from the trade paperback comic of the same name, Hefty Smurf also takes a bath in a wooden tub full of soap bubbles at the end of his workout.

Hehehe... the Smurfs have to stay clean too! In the book, "Baby Smurf's First Words" you can see a Smurf in the shower.

 -
Smurf in the Shower

And in the book, "What Do Smurfs Do All Day?" you see Smurfs washing up in a wooden tub.

 -
Smurfs Washing Up

There are also a couple of figurines depicting them bathing --- very cute! I can't remember off-hand any cartoon episodes that show them bathing... I'll be on the look-out though!

[Cool]

I have two of them:

Sauna Smurf has a Smurf wearing a towel and scrubbing his back.

Baby Bathing Smurf has Baby Smurf washing himself.

I did some drawings of them:

 -

I hope that these are OK to post. These are what they really look like. [Eek!]

"Baby Bathing Smurf has Baby Smurf washing himself." WIth all due respect, if the figure on the left side of the picture is supposed to be Baby Smurf, "his" appearance doesn't look like that of a male Smurf.

I agree, Vic George 2K6. I was confused at first whether that was Baby Smurf or not. It looks like hair underneath the shower cap. [Confused]

Kinda weird that even though they're bathing they're not get undressed.
One of the area that i think his son can easily build up new stories with it.
I know that the smurfs were aimed at young readers but i guess most readers were all grown ups by now?
Adults seemed to be a bit too sensitive on showing nudity in their works it's not a bad thing at all. (unless you're showing **** sexual content or bad language, that's a no no for The Smurfs!)

"You Don't Smurf Progress" has Smurfette taking a shower, though she is covered from sight by a curtain that the robot servants hold up. This didn't stop Greedy from trying to get a peek at her, only to be stopped by one of the robots.

The only thing that the Smurfs won't take off even when they're bathing is their hat...including Smurfette.

That's Vanity, Jokey, and I don't think he speaks for every Smurf with that statement. It's a personal sentiment, not a fact.

In "The Smurfs 2" our little friends are taking a bubble bath in the kitchen sink of the Winslows' Paris hotel room, fully clothed, although Hefty gets a little naughty when Patrick asks "Is a Smurf's butt blue?" in response to Papa's request to join them in finding Smurfette.

As for "A Smurf without a hat isn't a Smurf at all", tell that to Greedy in the TV episode "Gormandizing Greedy" when Papa orders him to take off his towering chef's hat and smurf over the towering cake hidden underneath. [yum!] In my just-finished Easter fan story The Easter Smurfettes tomboyish Vexy takes off her frilly Easter bonnet in disgust and half the time is hatless. I also have a little story idea called A Smurf Without a Hat in which all the Smurfs hats suddenly disappear from the village--a spell cast by Gargamel to make them all come to his hovel and beg to have them back--but instead they create temporary hats made from leaves thanks to Wild Smurf.

--------------------
Vexy is still my favorite Smurf. Tomboys need love, too. :)
