I just thought of something I never thought about before. It's said that Papa Smurf is 500 or so years old, all the other Smurfs are at least 100 (excluding Smurfette, Sasette, and Baby of course). Now, Gargamel has to be at least in his late 30s or early 40s. So, the Smurfs are all older than Gargamel, more than twice as older. I never thought about it, but it's weird to think of the concept.

I think Papa Smurf is about 543, and most of the Smurfs are about 150. That would be really strange if Gargamel is the same age as Papa Smurf.
How old is Grampa supposed to be? ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

Gargamel has to be in his late 30s or so, humans do not live as long as the Smurfs, so even the young Smurfs are WAY older than Gargamel. Strange to think that the same Smurfs that are terrorized by him were around long before he was born.
I don't think it's known how old Grandpa is, but it was said that he has been away from the Smurf village for about 500 years or so. I'm guessing at least 700 to 750 years old because he is much older than Papa Smurf, I can tell.

I think in one of the episodes Gargamel's age was revealed to be 29.

29 really? I would have never figured that young. However, back in those days I guess it was more common for people that young to look more aged than today.

Just 29?? YIKES!! Well, I agree with Shane, one can imagine young people in Middle Age should look much older then. ![[Gargamel]](graemlins/gargamel.gif)

Gargamel must be in his late 30s And granpa must be around 1000 years old. He doesn't return to the village for few cemturies.

I am surprised that a thread was revived after nearly five years of inactivity. I would expect people to create a new thread on this topic, but since the Smurf BBS is not active, it may be acceptable. This forum needs to be active.
Anyway, I believe that Gargamel is around his late forties or fifties.

We're took both of our topics for fun and seriously. We already got alot of forums all dating back to 2000 so it's not possible to make it active until someone comes and post something again it's not a bad thing. If you're want to begin something new just create your own topic.

In fact it was by chance that I found this topic when I was wandering - I meant, smurfing - through this forum. And I agree with you, Gargy looks to be just at his 40s or 50s. ![[Gargamel]](graemlins/gargamel.gif)

In the film, when Gargamel runs into the back of the taxi Patrick is in and is knocked over, Gutsy shouts 'You've had that coming for about 30 years!'

smurfsatthedisco, I think that may be an in-joke referring to how long the American public has remembered seeing Gargamel going after the Smurfs.
