Hey folks!
Well since I couldn’t find a post on introductions…or perhaps it got bumped off before I got here, thought I’d start one! And what better way to start it…then to introduce…me! Hey there, I’m orkie smurf *tusky grin* I’ve been a former fan of the smurfs, and have gotten back into them recently. I used to have TONS of the little guys when I was younger, back when you actually found them at garage sales, and not at toy shows going for like ten bucks each…Nut sadly, I got rid of every last one, all except my favorite, a golden painted smurf. The areas which are usually white on the smurfs, his hat and trousers, and painted gold instead and he’s marked ‘Germany’.
But anyway…long story short I got back into them, and I wanted to get in touch with other smurf fans. I see they’ve been making them still even as I stopped collecting.and,…wow, how do you keep track of all the figures??? My favorite pieces were always the mushroom house playsets, and a lot of the other sets they made…most of which I probably don’t even know about. Since starting up again I’ve acquired a few smurfs, but not many over the years…not like I used to have. I’m not sure how to go about collecting them…ebays so overwhelming, toy shows are dwindling in dealers, garage sales never have them, flea markets charge to much…I’m just not sure how to go about collecting them again.
Anyway, thought I’d say hello…oh and don’t worry about the avatar, I’m going to be making my own ‘orkie smurf’ one…just thought the big tusked guy would do for now. Don’t worry, he doesn’t eat smurfs*grinz* ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
