How the story of Jesus and the adulterous woman could be updated: When Jesus walked around, He saw near a church a group of people surrounding an openly gay man, beating the life out of him. "What's going on here?" Jesus asked. "We caught this man committing a homosexual act," one of the people in the mob said. "God's Law said that such people should be stoned. But what do You have to say?" They were asking that question, looking for a way to accuse Jesus of something. But Jesus just stooped and drew something on the ground as though He wasn't listening. When the mob kept asking Him the same question, Jesus stood up and said, "Whoever is sinless among you, let him be the first to cast a stone at him." With that, He stooped down and wrote on the ground again. The people of the mob, convicted in their own consciences, slowly started to depart, starting with the older people, and then the rest followed, until only Jesus was left with the gay man, who was surprised that Jesus was there and had talked the crowd away. When Jesus stood up and saw only the gay man, He asked, "Where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?" "No one, Lord," the gay man said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus said. "Go and leave your life of sin."
