Topic: Are the main characters Papa Smurf / Smurfette/Brainy/Hefty?

They always seem to be in every version and play big parts. Not sure about Clumsy.

Clumsy is a main one in the Live action movies and Lost Village but yeah, those are definitely considered "Main characters" from what I can tell. Grouchy is another one that I feel like could be considered a main Smurf too.

They're my the main guys!! But definitely Clumsy too! I just love him. But they're all good!

I agree... Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty, and Grouchy are all main characters. Plus Gargamel is definitely a main character!
Like Toasty Smurf said, Clumsy would be considered a main character especially in the previous movies and cartoon TV shows. I wonder if he plays much of a role in the new movie?
What about Jokey or possibly Handy?

Jokey seems more of a "Come and go" type of character. Unless a story is set around him, he usually just appears to make a gag and that's that.
Handy is definitely more used compared to him but I feel like he's more of a plot point than a Main character.
Characters like Papa Smurf, Brainy, Smurfette and others can usually be put into any story, which is what make them more important than others.

To me, the main characters are Papa Smurf and Smurfette. Brainy and Hefty are secondary characters.
