It's better for Papa and Smurfette to be father and daughter than what Peyo hinted toward with the "Romeos And Smurfette" one-page gags.

I thought the same
Yesterday I was talking with my friend about different remakes of old cartoons. When she heard that this year the new Smurfs series is released she said "Oh no". On the one hand I don't really understand why some people hate new versons (like they couldn't just not watching). I've heard that new versons are often made worse but I don't believe that everything is made so much worse... I'll see on September what with the smurfs ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

What are you talking about? I love the new series! It's more action-packed than slapstick-based and Brainy Smurf is a bit more tolerable than the original 1980s series. Also, he's no longer Papa's lab assistant. The less I talk about his infamous running gag on "Quotations of Brainy Smurf" books, the better.

I'm not talkin' about smurfs 'cause I haven't watched it but about what I heard about remakes of other cartoons. It's not important anyway - as I had written - I don't believe that all new remakes are worse. I will have own opinion about smurfs on September ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

The 1981 series really inflated the heck out of Brainy's ego. 2021 Brainy also has an ego though...

Though not as self-centered and narcissistic as he was in the 1980s series.

Remember, the 1980s portrayal of Brainy Smurf is old news. Hanna-Barbera overused him way too much in almost every episode of the show, like he's the true main protagonist (but isn't).

Btainy wasn't thrown out of the village, in the comics. He was whacked on the head. Since this new show is more faithful to the comics, I wonder if Brainy's gonna get his noggin bopped eventually...

I know I've said it before, but it's so awesome seeing Dopey Smurf FINALLY being in an animated adaptation and I think this was Greedy's debut as well.

It only remains for the new series of The Smurfs to arrive in Latin America and Brazil, but the dubbing could be the same cast that played the live-action films and the animated film Smurfs: The Lost Village.
But the Latin voice of Smurfette will have to determine later since Toni Rodríguez died in April of this year they will have to choose when they begin the dubbing in LA.

Sorry, but Brazil is also a Latin American country, due to Portuguese language.

Do you mean Royal? Or Chilean? Brazil belongs to Latin America indeed, because our native language - Portuguese - is also a Latin one.
