Here are some fun pictures from the McDonald's Happy Meal in Japan! They have a set of 10 Smurfs. They also have a promotion to get a Smurfs DVD and a Book with stickers! I find it interesting that Japan does not have Vexy and Hackus in its Smurfs 2 Happy Meal.

 -
Japan McDonalds - Smurfs 2 Toys

 -

 -

Most of Asia has a set of 12 Smurfs toys in the Happy Meal. Japan has 10 toys and China has 8 toys.

The Japanese set of McDonald's Smurfs 2 toys has a windup "Follow Me Vanity" Smurf toy! (The only other place in the world that I've seen this Vanity Walker toy offered in the Happy Meal is in Australia).

Check out the McDonald's Smurfs 2 Toys in Asia!

And here is the set of Happy Meal Smurf toys from Australia! It also has the "Follow Me Vanity" walking toy. And look... Australia is the only place to have 2 Vexy toys and 2 Hackus toys!

I find it interesting that in Japan they are running the Smurfs as a split promotion with another property as the "for boys" option. But I suppose there are people who might think that cute little blue elves who live in mushrooms would be a girlish thing.

Here's a cute mini commercial of the Smurfs 2 toys at McDonald's in Japan!

McDonald's Smurfs 2 Toys in Japan

[Smurfette]

You know, Debbie, I also thought it strange that the Japanese McDonald's thought the Smurfs were "girl" toys. All of the toy stores here is the USA display the Smurfs as unisex. The only time I see separation is with little girl's clothing having Smurfette images and boy's clothes having Smurfs.

My pictures of The Smurfs 2 Posters inside McDonald's in the US...

 - -

The first promotional poster shows Clumsy Smurf holding a green Smurfs 2 balloon and Smurfs milk. It reads, "Get your day soaring by choosing milk with apples!"

The second poster shows Clumsy Smurf & Vanity Smurf playing with balloons. Clumsy holds a package of apple slices. Vanity holds milk in his hand. The poster reads, "Smurf's Up! Celebrate the day with Milk & Apples!"

And here is the poster outside the McDonalds by the drive-thru! It shows all of the 16 Smurfs in the Happy Meal. It reads, "The Smurfs 2 - Smurfalicious fun starts with Dairy and Fruit". It also pictures the Happy Meal box, apple slices and milk jug.

I took some photos of the special Smurf 2 Milk Jugs at McDonalds - they have both milk and chocolate milk. They are half pint size (236mL). The chocolate milk is fat free. The white milk is low fat. Both with Vitamin A & D.

The milk shows Smurfette and Papa on the label (with a little Clumsy on the other side). The chocolate milk shows Vanity and Smurfette on the label (with a little Brainy on the other side).

And here are my McDonald's Smurf Apple Slices! The front of the bag shows Narrator Smurf holding a big juicy red apple. The back side shows Hackus standing next to three stacked apples.

Did you know... that Smurfs stand 3 apples tall?"

I always wondered what type of apple is used for the "3 Apples High" measurement... guess we'll never know?

It's a literal interpretation of a French idiom that is the equivalent of saying something is "knee-high to a grasshopper".

I think the USA Smurfs 2 promotion is almost over at McDonald's. The Smurfs have vanished from the USA Happy Meal website, and our local McDonald's has taken down the Smurfs 2 advertisement by the drive-thru lane. Anyone else manage to get all 16 Smurfs (actually 14 Smurfs and the two Naughties)? The 2013 Smurfs now happily reside alongside the 2011 Smurfs in my house. Takes me back to when I was collecting the Smurf figurines as a kid.

Yea, Same thing happened at my local Mcdonalds in Canada, they removed most of the posters and decor, all they have left is a few stickers and a cardboard cut-out

Peyo wrote his stories in French, so the term "haut comme trois pommes" ("three apples tall") was an idiom, not a literal expression.

Here are the Smurfs 2 stickers from the Canada McDonalds. I saw them all over the restaurant. These stickers were on the tiles. They also had the same stickers on the glass windows and doors.

I'll post more of my Smurfy pictures from the Canadian McDonalds... they had a lot of fun stuff like the cardboard cutout, stickers, balloons and posters. They also had Smurfs 2 Gift Cards and coloring packs. Stay tuned!

Here are the McDonald's Cash Cards from Canada. There are 6 different Smurfs 2 gift cards. They had the display by the registers. You load money on the cards and use it to buy stuff instead of having to carry cash. I felt extra smurfy when I used the Smurf Cards to buy the Smurfs Happy Meals!
