Guys! According to Wikipedia this is the little boy who will play Blue - Grace and Patrick’s son.
His name is Jacob Tremblay. This is the only photo I can find - there aren’t any on Google, and there isn’t one on Wikipedia - he doesn’t even have a page. Yet. The Smurfs 2 is his first movie.

"Hello,
Thank you for your nice note! Shooting just started on THE SMURFS 2 so it will be a little while before we reveal the look of Vexy and Hackus or issue a first poster for the film, but you won't be disappointed!"

The Smurfs 3 is Already Being Planned

Production only recently began on Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation's The Smurfs 2, but Variety is now reporting that plans are already underway for a third adventure with Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche returning to provide the screenplay.
The second film is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2013 and stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, Hank Azaria, Brendan Gleeson, Katy Perry, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin, John Oliver, Christina Ricci and JB Smoove.
In it, the evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants — and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs — Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world's greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus – or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?
There's no word yet on who else might be returning for The Smurfs 3, but check back for details as they become available.
Barely any time has passed since plot details for the sequel were revealed, now The Smurfs 3 is already being planned!

No doubt about Jonathan Winters he is the living legend in terms
of fun improvisations and roast.
And considered to be the mentor to Robin Williams.
You can watch his early footage back in 50s and 60s
I can tell you he really hilarious without being rude!
Frank Welker did a voice of Azrael in the move but back in Hanna-Barbera series Azrael voice was
done by Don Messick who also voiced Papa Smurf in this series.

Frank Welker is great when it comes to doing animal voices. One of his examples is Woof the were-hyena character in Batman Beyond: The Return Of The Joker.

Also Frank Welker and some other man took over Don Messick's job for playing the voice of Scooby Doo when Don Messick passed away.

Threequel script in the works with 'Over the Hedge' scribes

Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Pictures are feeling confident in their upcoming "Smurfs" sequel, as the studios are already developing a script for "Smurfs 3" with scribes Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche, sources tell Variety.
Duo previously worked together on DreamWorks Animation's "Over the Hedge." Jordan Kerner, who produced the movie and its sequel, is also on board to develop the third film.
Released last summer, "The Smurfs" grossed a boffo $563 million worldwide. Sony wasted no time announcing a sequel, waiting all of 12 days before setting a July 31, 2013 release for "Smurfs 2." Sequel will see the return of director Raja Gosnell, producer Jordan Kerner and executive producer Ezra Swerdlow.
A live-action/CG hybrid, "Smurfs 2" has already started production, with most of the original cast back for the sequel, including stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays and Hank Azaria. New cast members include Brendan Gleeson, J.B. Smoove as a naughty smurf named Hackus and Christina Ricci as Vexy, an evil version of Smurfette (Katy Perry).
"Smurfs" is based on the Belgian comic characters created by Peyo.
In addition to "Over the Hedge," Kirkpatrick and Poche collaborated on the script for Michael Lehmann's 2007 indie comedy "Flakes." Kirkpatrick separately had a hand in adapting the beloved children's books "James and the Giant Peach," "Charlotte's Web" and "The Spiderwick Chronicles."

By the way, how old is "Blue" in real life? Is he 3 or 5 years old? Can he talk? I've heard of Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith appear alongside his father in the flashback scenes from "I Am Legend". According to Wikipedia, this is Willow's debut role.

The Smurfs 2 is an upcoming American 3D family film and a sequel to the 2011 film The Smurfs. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, it is being directed again by Raja Gosnell, with all the main cast returning. New cast includes Christina Ricci and J. B. Smoove as members of the Naughties, and Brendan Gleeson as Patrick Winslow's stepfather. The film is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2013.
In this film, Gargamel creates a couple of evil Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties to harness the magical Smurf essence. When he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants and that only Smurfette can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and takes her to Paris. Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity must return to the human world and seek help from their friends Patrick and Grace Winslow in order to rescue Smurfette.
On August 9, 2011, Sony Pictures Animation announced a sequel to be released on August 2, 2013, which was later rescheduled to July 31, 2013 (two days and two years after the release of its predecessor).Director Raja Gosnell and producer Jordan Kerner will return. Katy Perry confirmed at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards that she will reprise her role as Smurfette. Sony began working on the sequel in early 2011 with writers J. David Stem, David N. Weiss, Jay Scherick and David Ronn. By early August 2011, the first draft of the script was completed.
Filming will take place in Montreal, Canada. On April 26, 2012, Sony announced that the film has gone into production.

Sony Already Hires Writers for Smurfs 3
The Smurfs 2 is already in production, with the story being taken international as the blue creatures that the live action characters go to Paris, along with some new roles in tow. While we’ll have to wait over a year to see just how the sequel does, it seems Sony is really enthusiastic about the series as a whole. Now, it seems the studio is ready to make an even more long term commitment as they’ve just decided that a third film will move into development as well.
Variety reports that Sony has hired Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche as writers for The Smurfs 3, with an unknown timetable as to just when the film would be released. With the time between sequels, there’s a chance The Smurfs 3 could hit theaters in Summer 2015, if greenlit. Kirkpatrick was a writer and co-director of Dreamwork’s 2006 animated film Over The Hedge, as well as screenplay work on James and the Giant Peach, The Iron Giant, and even this year’s The Secret World of Arietty.

There’s no word if Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, and the rest of the cast will return for a third outing should the sequel be successful, but it only seems extremely likely that the voice cast will return.
Co-written by J. David Stem, David N. Weiss., Jay Scherick and David Ronn, The Smurfs 2 is scheduled to be released on July 31st, 2013.
New Smurfs 2 Logo, Smurfs 3 in Development
After Sony’s The Smurfs grossed a grand total of $563 million at the global box office last year, they waited a grand total of 12 days before green lighting a sequel. The studio has released an official logo (above) for the sequel, titled The Smurfs 2, but there was another surprising Smurf-related development today. Apparently, Sony has enough confidence in their sequel writers Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche, that they’re now giving the go-ahead on The Smurfs 3. Given that the production of The Smurfs 2 is already underway with much of the original cast returning (plus a few new faces), things must be coming along quite nicely.
Raja Gosnell, who helmed the first Smurfs film, returns as director for the sequel which also stars Sofia Vergara, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin and John Oliver. The Smurfs 2 is set for release on July 31st, 2013. Hit the jump for news on The Smurfs 3.

Neil Patrick Harris is away from his family in New York City shooting Smurfs 2 this summer, but Sony feels so confident about the franchise that they've already hired writers to pen Smurfs 3.
Sony Pictures Animation has, even before the release of "The Smurfs 2", greenlit a third film in the CGI/Live-action hybrid franchise. "Over the Hedge" scribes Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche are writing the project; Jordan Kerner, producer of the first two films, returns. "Smurfs 2" is out 2013, so this one will likely be released the following year.

And I gotta admit, Vexy should look like Gargamel's version of Smurfette with the black hair, but more beautiful and dangerous like Eva Green's character; Angelique from Tim Burton's recently released movie: "Dark Shadows". I'd never expect she'll wear purple like an evil witch. Papa wears red, Grandpa wears yellow, and Handy wears blue, and Farmer wears green. So it is more efficient to add color of evil to the "naughties". I can't wait to see Vexy when the time comes.

Talk about getting ahead of yourselves. While the notion of scripting multiple sequels isn't that novel, Sony is banking on the overwhelming success of the first Smurfs movie to jump ahead of next summer's sequel and pen a third film.
The Smurfs sequel recently made news when Christina Ricci, Brendan Gleeson and J.B. Smoove agreed to cash a lucrative paycheck. The Smurfs 2 arrives in theaters July 31, 2103.
Variety reports that Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche (they penned and directed the animated comedy Over the Hedge) are on board to write and direct The Smurfs 3.
The first Smurfs movie grossed a surprising $563 million worldwide. It's clear that Sony isn't ready to put that cash cow out to pasture just yet. The third Smurfs film should arrive in theaters sometime in 2015. Hopefully by then the franchise will have evolved into something more engaging and humorous than the first film.
